Impressions of Jaywick 🌊 ~~~~~~ This video was created as part of a one-week residency in the coastal village of Jaywick (Essex, UK). I spent my time drawing and gathering treasures washed up along the shores of Jaywick, including sea potatoes, whelk eggs, shells, and seaweed, while also noticing many pieces of washed up plastic. I photographed these objects and started dissecting them digitally, finally creating this video. @artsciencecsm @csm_news @unioftheartslondon #csmprocess #jaywick #jaywickmartellotower

Jaywick Airings Residency 2026 🌊 I was thrilled to take part in the week long residency at the coastal village of Jaywick (Essex, UK) part of the course @artsciencecsm . I spent the week drawing plein air drawings with goacuhe and india ink, while treasure hunting on the beach, talking to seagulls and trying not to be blown away by the wind. In the last day the caravan which was my home and studio durring the week turned into an exhibtion space for my creations. @unioftheartslondon @csm_news #csmprocess #jaywick #jaywickmartellotower

Sunshower(2025) It was truly an honor to participate in this exhibition with Sun Shower(2025) As an immigrant/international student, I tried to express the struggles I experienced from changes in weather and limited sunlight by transforming them into the beauty that nature can offer us. The Mosaic of Becoming 📍Nunnery Gallery 23th April - 1st May 2026 @artssulondon @artsciencecsm @csm_news @nunnerygallery - This installation originates from the fundamental human dilemma of a paradoxical relationship with nature—the simultaneous experience of receiving wounds from the natural world while drawing profound comfort and restoration from it.  - Following the artist’s relocation to the UK, the significantly reduced daylight hours and persistent overcast weatherrevealed a deep negative impact on personal psyche, underscoring 'light' as an essential element for human emotional stability and well-being.  - The work, Sunshower, reinterprets the mundane act of showering as a gesture of emotional catharsis and self-regeneration. By integrating a domestic showerhead with a lamp and using optical fibres to simulate the falling water, the installation captures the surreal and hopeful moment of 'rain under clear skies' within the space.  - This piece visually satisfies the yearning for depleted natural light, ultimately offering viewers deep solace through the beauty that blossoms even within contradictory realities. #sunshower #csm #installationart

Today, MAAS (Year 1) visited Alice Holt Research Forest @aliceholtforest . “Forest Research is internationally renowned for the provision of science, research, evidence, data and services in support of sustainable forestry.” We explored its distinctive geology, south-east England climate and history, to understand how this ancient woodland supports modern research. It was inspiring to see and learn about adapting new technology, techniques, and approaches to gathering data. Huge thanks to the staff at Alice Holt for such informative sessions and to our tutors for organising a great day.

Research: Oak, Wales… 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿 @walesbotanic Arboretum “Growing trees and shrubs from wild collected seed. If any of these tree species become extinct or unsustainable in their natural wild spaces, seeds and cuttings from arboreta like this can be used to rebuild the natural populations. Think of it as slow conservation, using our horticultural and scientific expertise to safeguard tree species for the future.” https://botanicgarden.wales/wp-content/uploads/2021/07/Arboretum-Trail-2021.pdf “Explore Waun Las National Nature Reserve, 400 acres of beautiful countryside within the National Botanic Garden of Wales, managed as an organic farm to encourage biodiversity. Waun Las contains a wide range of valuable habitats that include marshy grassland, wet woodland and lowland meadows – priorities for conservation in the UK and the rest of Europe. A range of wild plants, fungi and other wildlife that have disappeared from much of our countryside. Explore the restored hay meadows, which come alive with a beautiful array of orchids and other wildflowers from May to September.” @walesbotanic @artsciencecsm @unioftheartslondon #research #sustainable #community #pigment #botanical
