Recently, Artistic Tile brought a group of designers and architects to Carrara for an up-close look at marble at its source. From the marble-crowned Apuan Alps to artisan workshops, and a candlelit piano performance inside the Franchi Umberto Marmi Quarry, guests explored the geology, craftsmanship, and culture behind Italian stone—touring the Borghini, Fabbricotti, and Macchia Vecchia quarries and tracing the vein up the mountain from one site to the next.
More than anything, it was the shared experience that stood out. We are grateful to everyone who joined us. Until next time!

Belvedere Quartzite—its name says it all. The Italian word Belvedere translates to beautiful view. Shown as a feature wall in this wine cellar, where the stone’s velvety black, rich gold, and vibrant white reveal rich texture and harmonious balance.

At Kidilum, Chef Raveendran brings the spirit of Kerala to New York—drawing on the tea shops and spice-filled kitchens of his home state, reimagined through the lens of fine dining.
The interiors echo that same narrative. Designed with materials from Artistic Tile, the space channels the warmth, texture, and richness of Southern India—where stone becomes a backdrop to the aroma of spices and the ritual of tea. Layers of stone, pattern, and surface bring to life the atmosphere of Kerala’s everyday eateries, elevated through a contemporary New York sensibility.
“Kidilum”—a Malayali expression meaning “beyond awesome”—feels exactly that: a cultural translation of memory, craft, and place, where food and space tell the same story.

A pied-à-terre moment, grounded in stone. This custom marble floor was designed as more than a surface—it’s the quiet anchor to a home that happily indulges in pattern, texture, and a bit of drama. Each inlay was carefully composed to echo historic detailing while feeling distinctly fresh, a subtle geometry that guides you through the space without ever asking for the spotlight (though it certainly deserves it).

Iconic Checkerboard. In classic black and white or playful alternatives, checkerboard embodies high style. The motif of alternating shapes has captivated humanity throughout history: you can trace the pattern’s popularity from ancient Roman villas to opulent Renaissance castles. Two contrasting colors, one incredible icon.
Would you keep it classic, or dare to reimagine it in color?

Introducting Arabescato D’Oro, a beautiful Greek marble in its own right, but when textured with a Rock Finish, deeper characteristics are revealed that make this stone extraordinary. Chalky-white with broad, warm grey veins, the rugged finish on this stone opens deeper layers and introduces directionality that runs counter to the natural veining, enhancing the stone’s inherent sense of movement and creating a layered, raw depth that is both visible and invitingly tactile. Stocked in a 12” x 24” x 5/8” tile.
