#FreeThrowSJ2026: FOR THE WIN🤩💯‼️ 🌟🌟🌟Introducing our very special Behind-the-Scenes footage for Free Throw 2026! Our 5 creative teams, made of talented volunteers and SJSU students, have been working hard to bring Free Throw animated visuals to life through lively and sophisticated projection mapping!🎥💫📹〰️💫 Who's ready to play?🔥🔥🔥 JOIN US AT THE SAN JOSE FREE THROW EVENT🏀💥!! 🗓️ Date: Thursday, March 26th & Saturday, March 28th 🕖 Time: 7:30PM – 10PM 📍 Location: 525 W Santa Clara St, San Jose, CA 95113 Attendance is FREE and open to all ages! Free Throw is a live projection mapping experience that transforms the east façade of the SAP Center into a luminous arena for civic play. Conceived by artist professor G. Craig Hobbs and powered by a cohort of emerging media makers from San José State University, the work celebrates San José’s spirit of creativity, collaboration, culture and play. Presented over two nights (March 26 & 28, 2026), this unprecedented public artwork reimagines the SAP Center as a site of collective experience, transforming downtown San José’s Barack Obama Boulevard into an immersive and interactive digital canvas. Real time tracking blends seamlessly with 2D and 3D animations crafted by Art 175 students in the Video Projection Mapping course at San José State University, alongside graduates of the university’s animation program and CADRE alumni. Live action and student forged digital alchemy ignite a breathtaking immersive realm that lifts art and sport sky high, celebrating human potential while crafting an allegory of recompense, reconciliation and collective healing for a once divided public. Join us this Tuesday, November 4 at 5pm for an inspiring and thought-provoking evening with Elizabeth Turk - Expanding Sculpture: The Language of OBJECTS to The Language of EXPERIENCES! How does a solitary fine art practice evolve into creating shared, public experiences—and back again? Working alone in the studio allows for vulnerability and passion; yet, social sculpture invites collective imagination, where communities create spontaneous memories together. Elizabeth Turk, a California native, is known for marble sculpture and participatory community art. A MacArthur Fellow, she works between studios in Santa Ana, CA and NYC, and has received honors including the Annalee & Barnett Newman Foundation Award and a Smithsonian Artist Fellowship. Where: San José State University, Art & Design Building, room 133 When: Tuesday, November 4 at 5pm
