Shangfeng Zhang (b. 1998, Xi'an, China) is a contemporary artist and graduate of the Xi'an Academy of Fine Arts. His paintings emerge from a threshold where contemporary life meets the distant afterimage of myth. Rather than treating myth as fixed narrative or heroic structure, Zhang explores how it survives within the emotional texture of the present—in hesitation, waiting, silence, and the subtle instability of ordinary life.

A Room Rehearses Its Own is the solo exhibition of Xiangjie Rebecca Wu (@rebeccawuuuu ) curated by Xiaojing Zhu(@sheci14 )
The exhibition debuts Wu’s latest series of paintings centered on enigmatic interior spaces, rooms that are emptied of linear narrative yet saturated with duration.
In these works, what remains is time: condensed, layered, and palpable.
The room becomes less a setting than a condition, where memory takes on material form.

Andrew Raftery, Professor at RISD showed me his beautiful woodcuts which were prints as wallpapers.

“Andrew Raftery’s “Outside meets Inside:
A Wallpaper Installation for The Redwood Library and Athenaeum” was on view in Newport, Rhode Island, and later awarded the 2025 Abbey Mural Prize.
To create this custom, hand-printed wallpaper, Raftery spent 1,200+ hours hand carving woodblocks, which were then printed by Adelphi Paper Hangings using traditional methods.
Raftery’s artistic practice rests upon a deep expertise and appreciation for the antique medium of engraving, and his precise and labor-intensive works demonstrate the enduring relevance and emciency of this medium’s application on contemporary subjects to disseminate images that are universally accessible.”
