Be welcome! #Repost @nccfn • • • • • • The Collection F.T.P is made from leftover garments in Gujarat / India REWORKS has an independent studio in the center of a free trade area where many second hand traders are located. For the collaboration with NCCFN, a small group of the network decided to travel to the atelier in Kandla to get to know the workers there, and the factory from where the leftover garments are chosen and reworked. Central to this travel was to re-establish and nourish the human-material connection, and the exchange of knowledge, craftsmanship and humanity even in a retail project. Many of (our) leftover clothes are shipped to India to be sorted out and to be redistributed - they are the basic resources for this collection - we bring our “trash” back with new shapes, function and value. In the video we try to communicate not only the final fashion items and it’s consumers - rather we want to give a parallel position to the environment, the producers and the raw material to unfold a conflict, a contradiction in the fashion industry and it’s somewhat confronting reality. It’s not about bad or good - for us it’s about embracing these complex problems and to find out how we can better work together on a global base. -they don’t need our trash - donating is not that easy - donating is not true benefit - don’t be ignorant - get educated. @rework_fizzen
