Die @hkb_madesign Studierende Nina Jaun gewinnt mit ihrem Mode- und Design-Label NCCFN den Swiss Design Award 2024 in der Kategorie Vermittlung und Szenografie 🙌 @nccfn (Nothing Can Come From Nothing) ist ein multilokales Netzwerk von Designern und Kunsthandwerkern, das Mode als Medium nutzt, um die vielfältigen Herausforderungen seiner globalen Industrie zu verstehen und anzugehen. Ninas Ausstellungsprojekt «Applied Utopia» stellt dabei ein reflektierendes Ökosystem der Welt dar. NCCFN Group @nccfn are one of the finalists in the mediation and scenography category of the Swiss Design Awards 2024!⁠ Take a look at their nominated project!  – You are shady, that’s why you feel shady – Confusion and uncertainty are the shady feeling: how to deal, how to get on, or how to do the right thing in a world of consumerism and productivity. 𝘈𝘱𝘱𝘭𝘪𝘦𝘥 𝘜𝘵𝘰𝘱𝘪𝘢 is a first discursive exhibition project created by NCCFN in collaboration with Zeughaus Teufen. The exhibition examines contrasts and all the shades of gray in between, using the fashion system as its field of research. Its scenography is a reflective ecosystem of the world we are living in – where everything is sold and bought. NCCFN encourages people to think about global supply chains and promote a discussion of what sustainability means. It is a market space and a meeting point – to share, discuss and negotiate the problems and the utopias we have. IN BALANCE - The high wears off. Everything could be easy. The recent EU policy - puts a direct ban on the destruction of unused / unsold textiles. Means bigger EU Textil /fashion companies are not allowed to destroy/trash their overproduced products -such as garments and shoes - anymore. Includes as well the returned goods - which usually get destroyed. In Europe the average return rate for clothing bought online is estimated at 20%. There is less info about the actual volumes of textiles that remain unsold - and about the amounts ending up, destroyed. Where do those products go now? How can they be used ? And from who ? Especially visual branded products. Maybe it’s gonna need much more companies who work with already existing products - to make it real. Or the companies itself start to use it as a valuable source itself. Would be easier if we just produce and consume less.

IN BALANCE - The high wears off. How can we be circular - In a world of branded products? The visual expression of ownership through symbols, signs and names on a product, allows the buyer and the wearer not only to own a product - to represent and adorn themselves with it, to portray a #status. Labeling - visible symbols, signs and names are precious references that give us important information about a product. It is also a visual expression of ownership. Buying enables us to become the owner of a product. Thus, we also own the applied references, are we ? How can we put these branded products into circulation, not just through the act of buying and selling?
