Microplastics: The Hidden Problem
On Monday evening, a room full of scientists, policymakers, innovators and industry leaders came together around one shared question:
What do we do next?
The conversation around plastic is shifting and itâs accelerating.
With the release of A Plastic Detox documentary on
@netflix , microplastics and their potential impact on human health have firmly entered the mainstream.
What was once seen as an environmental issue is now becoming something far closer to home. How are microplastics migrating from the world around us: clothing, chemicals, food packaging, even your daily coffee cup and ending up in our bodies. What is the impact of this migration on our generation and the next?
The evening was about bringing this issue into focus.
Not as a headline, but as a conversation.
This isnât something one organisation can solve alone.
It requires:
â shared understanding
â open dialogue
â collective action
At Notpla, weâve always believed materials need rethinking at source. Always inspired by nature, we design packaging made from seaweed to offer a viable and scalable alternative to single-use plastic, challenging what packaging is made from in the first place.
Weâre committed to helping build this space for awareness and action; connecting people, sharing knowledge, and supporting the momentum behind this growing shift.
This is just the beginning. Join the conversation.
Thanks you so much to everyone who made this event happen: Paul van Zyl, Sian Sutherland, David Fein LVO, Paul Fowler, Jane Muncke, Leonardo Trasande, Anthony Kolanko,
