The National Emergency Briefing had a major impact on those who attended. The guests totalled over 1,200 and included parliamentarians, business leaders and representatives from faith, media, culture and sport.
This was an important step, but it’s now time to take the briefing to the people - help us fund our film, ‘The Peoples Emergency Briefing’, and take it around the UK.
MPs will be invited to screenings and each time the film is shown there will be a Q&A that includes experts and local campaigners.

Facing the reality of the climate crisis can feel overwhelming. But one of the strongest antidotes to hopelessness is connection and action.
At our recent screening of the People’s Emergency @nebriefing Briefing with Sustainable Wymondham, we spoke about how getting involved in community action can help turn anxiety into momentum.
Whether it’s food, transport, biodiversity, energy, housing, or local green spaces, every person who joins in helps create a ripple effect that can grow far beyond one individual action.
That’s also what Changeprint is all about: recognising the wider impact that happens when people come together to create change. 🌍

💪🏼 We’re stronger and more resilient together. It’s why the People’s Emergency Briefing is designed to be watched together in our communities - validated in participants’ feedback from our Cardiff screening last month.
👉 The next step, now that the dust has settled, is to bring us back together again to consider what we can and what we will do. This evening 13 May is the first People Planet Pint since the screening. There’s no film, powerpoint or speeches this time, but it will provide an opportunity to check in with each other, contribute to the emerging Resilient Cardiff mapping, and meet more people who are taking action to help our communities (local, regional and national) more resilient.
😊 All welcome.
The details:

Real climate action doesn’t happen in isolation. It happens when people come together and make it impossible to ignore the demand for change.
At our recent screening of the People’s Emergency Briefing @nebriefing with Sustainable Wymondham, we spoke about the importance of showing visible, collective public support for bold climate action.
Creating change isn’t just about calling for action, it’s about building enough momentum, community, and public pressure that decision makers feel able to act boldly too.
That’s also the idea behind Changeprint: the ripple effects that happen when people act together and inspire wider change across communities. 🌍

Talk Title: Climate change is now a core national security threat.
🌿 Lieutenant General Richard Nugee CB CVO CBE is our speaker. He is a former senior British Army officer and leading voice on climate and national security. His 35-year military career included operational tours in Northern Ireland, the Balkans, Iraq and Afghanistan, where he served as Chief of Staff to NATO’s ISAF Joint Command. He later became Chief of Defence People and was awarded the US Legion of Merit.
Key points from the briefing:
🌏 Climate change is now a core national security threat.
🌏 The threat picture is shifting faster than expected.
🌏 Climate fuels global instability that directly affects UK security.
🌏 Instability abroad translates into instability at home.
🌏 The military is already being pulled into domestic climate emergencies.
🌏 The greatest risk is cascading crises.
🌏 Climate action strengthens national security.
🌏 This is not a future problem or a trade-off.

🔔This is all across local press.
The government hasn’t yet briefed the public on the severe threats from climate change and nature loss, so civil society is taking matters into its own hands.
