Sincere thanks to The Brooklyn Rail and Annette An-Jen Liu for the insightful feature on our exhibition, “Caroline Monnet: Where the Sky Begins.”
The exhibition focuses on Monnet’s exploration of her Anishinaabe and French heritage through textiles, sculptures, and works on paper that reimagine the relationship between Indigenous identity, colonial history, and industrial materials. Drawing on traditional patterns and modern construction media, “Where the Sky Begins” envisions a resilient Indigenous future grounded in cultural endurance and reclamation.
Caroline Monnet: “Where the Sky Begins” | Duration: September 5 - November 8, 2025 | Venue: Nunu Fine Art New York (381 Broome St.) | Gallery Hours: Tuesday - Saturday, 11:00 AM to 6:00 PM
