How might electromagnetic listening bring sound art, environmental research, and scientific sensing into closer relation? This symposium-on-the-radio brings together artists and researchers engaging with the electromagnetic spectrum as both material and site of inquiry.
Fifteen contributors present work exploring natural radio phenomena, electromagnetic listening practices and questions of spectrum access. The programme moves between artist talks, panel discussions, audio artworks and live performance. Across these presentations, artistic research offers forms of situated knowledge production, operating alongside and in dialogue with social, scientific and technological methodologies.

A CHRISTMAS CAROL
Gate Theatre, Dublin, 2025/26
‘The musical arrangements are a particular highlight of the production. We’re never far from another song, with some modern interpretations of many yuletide classics.’ - NO MORE WORKHORSE
‘Anna Clock’s charming arrangements of favourite carols ring out as clear as the little handbells, which accompany the players’ a cappella harmonies. In contrast, Wren Dennehy’s feathered and frilled operatic diva and Michael Trent’s glittering soul singer give a whole new musical edge to the ghosts of Christmas past and present, while a silent Grim Reaper presides over horrors yet to come. The whole thing is a delight, a guaranteed prescription to cure the winter gloom.’ - THE STAGE

DUCHESS OF MALFI
Sam Wanamaker Theatre, Shakespeare’s Globe, 2024
‘The production has one of the best scores I’ve heard in a play over recent years, a quartet scored by Anna Clock with prominent roles for double bass and bass clarinet’ - The Arts Desk
‘Bolstered by the composer Anna Clock’s perceptive, jazz-inflected live score, Bagshaw and the actors ensure that their various paths to destruction are always sharply involving ‘ - The Times
‘The hymn-like music in the first half gives way to more jazzy strains with the orchestra coming on to the back of the stage and a saxophone predominating. Clock often works in a participatory and collaborative way, and their music here is never imposed but seems to emanate from the action.’ - Plays International
‘The action is accompanied by a brassy avant-garde jazz score by Anna Clock’ - WhatsOnStage

FAITH HEALER Lyric Hammersmith, 2024
‘Quietly spellbinding’ - Financial Times
‘Perfectly-pitched’ - Evening Standard ‘A searing piece of theatrical alchemy’ - AJH Loves Theatre
‘Anna Clock’s sound design is understated – until a single, shocking burst of doom-laden strings near the climax. The rest of the time, Clock’s score is so subdued that it almost feels subliminal, with looping drones and hollow rumbles thrumming beneath the spoken text.’ - The Stage
‘Anna Clock’s sound and Paul Keogan’s lighting help cue the grievous reckoning toward which the play builds’ - London Theatre
