This video, along with thousands of others, got delisted from YouTube when Balcony TV got bought by The Orchard (Sony). It’s one of my favourite live sessions I’ve ever done but no one can see it because the wankers decided to take it down.
The platform was all about supporting independent artists, increasing their presence online and providing high quality videos for free. Infuriates me that years of hard work and talent (over 18,000 videos!) can just be erased so easily.
Hopefully it won’t get taken down from Instagram too. Enjoy it while ya can! 😉

Eight weeks ago, the first cohort of Savage Sounds Beatbox School showed up. We were all a bit nervous.
I’d never run a course before. None of them had beatboxed before. We all happened to be women in our 30’s / 40’s / 50’s. Most of them said they weren’t musical or were too shy to try.
Last week they graduated. 👩🏼🎓

Writing this from a solo writing retreat by the sea ✍️🍺
Five days, kid-free, just me and my work. I shed a wee tear watching the sunset on the first night. Because I realised….This is what freedom looks like. And I’ve worked really bloody hard for it.
The Brit in me is cringing a bit writing this, worried it sounds braggy…but after 16 years of freelance artist life - the rejection, the uncertainty, the daily practice of believing in yourself when the world gives you very little reason to…moments like this feel MONUMENTAL.
It’s Time. Time is power. Time is freedom. Time to myself to do shit my way. And that’s only possible because of the path I chose. Not the easy path. Not the 9-5 path. The being my own boss, scary and uncertain path of an artist. And god damnit I’m proud of myself mmmkay?!
