You are an IRONMAN…Champion!!!
As
@anna.pabinger ‘s coach since one year, I want to share some thoughts on her long distance debut win at
@ironmanamericas Chattanooga:
First of all I am beyond proud of her, as she has not only been training really well, also the execution on race day was superb.
Over the last 12 months we tried to optimize as much as possible, such as specific bike sets and running workouts, for becoming a more complete triathlete (and not "think" as a runner anymore).
With my holistic approach of coaching, we tweaked equipment thoroughly and I made her understand, what an important role nutrition plays, especially in long distance triathlon (note: she did not have any GI issues or cramping during the race).
On purpose, an Ironman with an easier first discipline thanks to a downstream river swim was chosen. Still, Anna was quite nervous before the race, but she managed it really well wearing a
@blueseventy PZ4TX swimskin, clocking a 49:19 thanks to the pushing current of Tennessee River 🏊🏼♀️
On the bike she really nailed it, even though riding "by feel" without a head unit, only wearing her GPS run watch 🙈
See her

@trainingpeaks screenshot, followed by a WhatsApp communication we had, talking Watts.
Note: Compared to her top-3 competitors off the bike, Anna rode everything "alone", and she has not done any aero testing yet.
With a 2:59 marathon she truly showed her running strength on a brutal hilly course in quite hot conditions. Check out her longest key-run in another TP screenshot 👀
I‘m convinced that there is still lots of room for improvement and that this performance was only the beginning of a stellar long distance career 💫
Thank you for letting me be part of your journey to Kona 2026, Anna 🌋
