*Introducing the Artists*
Animated Matter (@animated_matter ) are the duo of multisensory artist David Yann Robert and vocalist/composer Hannah Elizabeth Cox. Based on the NE coast of the US, their debut album Selkie was recorded over multiple years of late night sessions shifting between states of waking and dreaming. Sharing a belief in animism: that sentience exists not only in humans but throughout all forms of matter: plants, rocks and oceans, their debut interprets the Celtic myth of the Selkie: a tragedy of impossible land/sea romance between a man and a shapeshifting seal/woman.
