*Introducing the Artists* Animated Matter (@animated_matter ) are the duo of multisensory artist David Yann Robert and vocalist/composer Hannah Elizabeth Cox. Based on the NE coast of the US, their debut album Selkie was recorded over multiple years of late night sessions shifting between states of waking and dreaming. Sharing a belief in animism: that sentience exists not only in humans but throughout all forms of matter: plants, rocks and oceans, their debut interprets the Celtic myth of the Selkie: a tragedy of impossible land/sea romance between a man and a shapeshifting seal/woman. Join us on the Journey on April 26. 🎟️ Tickets available on RA. Link in bio 🔗

Fels has turned two and we can’t wait to welcome you all to the @museumofmod.renaissance tomorrow Nov 23! We are almost at capacity so if you haven’t bought your tickets already, today’s the day. We will have limited tickets at the door tomorrow. It’s hard to believe we’re on the 8th iteration and have been doing this for two years. Here are a few moments from past editions. Shout out to all the musicians, visual artists, and collaborators. This wouldn’t be possible without you.

*Introducing the Artists* In Ether Codex (@ethercodex ), cellist Sara Luttrell and sound artist Patrick Chaney conjure an otherworldly blend of acoustic performance and electronic alchemy. Layers of cello merge with distorted samples, granular echoes, and shifting tones to create evolving dark ambient landscapes — meditations on resonance, decay, and transformation. It’s hard to believe @emmalucilleart and I have been collaborating on visuals for two years now - time flies. It’s been quite a journey figuring out what works best for different kinds of music, balancing what each of us is doing, and co-creating together. With every show we’ve learnt new things, experimented with new tools, and methods to create what you see. Here’s a peek into our recent set at Steep’d in Cambridge - here we used a few analog video synths, a video feedback setup to play with found botanicals, flowers, and Emma live drawing over it. Our last show together in Boston for 2025 is coming up at the @museumofmod.renaissance for @your_fels on Nov 23 where we will be doing more of this, come say hi! 🎟️Tickets at link in bio 🔗

*Introducing the Artists* @eardrummerman aka manaswi mishra is a sound artist and PhD researcher in the Opera of the Future group at the MIT Media Lab. His research explores strategies and frameworks for a new creative age of composing, performing and learning music using A.I. centered around bespoke human and cultural intent. “What makes sound, music?” - is the driving force of his research, art, and interactive live performances with technology. Here, he will explore - using the voice to interrogate and improvise with datasets, bespoke A.I. models and custom instruments to create an unpredictable, generative soundscape. “Thank you for letting me improvise and make mistakes with sound, it is my favorite way of being human.” - manaswi Join us on the Journey on November 23. 🎟️ Tickets available on RA.
