When I place my works together—across time—I see how they blend. Change excites me, because I expand while remaining true to who I am—at my core. I foster experiences of soul and contradiction because everyone should have the opportunity to see life in such wholeness—the sacred in the discards and the devastatingly joyful.

Opening March 29th, 6-9pm at PUSHUP GALLERY @pushup.gallery curated by JACOB FREDERICK HARTMAN @jacob_frederick_hartmanANI BRUTUS is an interdisciplinary artist of Haitian-Filipino descent, experimenting across print, paint, textile, and assemblage.Read about Ani’s practice in her own words:“Through the layering of found fabric and elements from my family archives, I weave expressions of ancestral spirit into tapestries and suspended fiber totems. Drawing inspiration from the practice of Vodou and the principles of thermodynamics, I transform the lives of discarded materials into tactile portals—each representative of my regional communities and my familial relationship to the natural world. My work lives to affirm that spirit never dies, by exploring how the soul of revolution is alive within the mundane.”Swipe to see some of ANI BRUTUS’s works!PUSHUP GALLERY is located at scenic Erf Studios @erf.nyc 94 Bogart Street.
