EN Archive Day Revisiting early explorations of exhibition as an urban intervention. The exhibition "Catwalk: The Art of the Fashion Show" — now on view at V&A Dundee! The exhibition developped in Vitra Design Museum continues its journey, taking on a new spatial and atmospheric reading within the architecture of V&A Dundee. This iteration opens up the project in a different way — with a stronger presence of interactive devices, open and engaging relationship with the public, and the integration of the “Backstage” chapter. The graphic language, interpretative elements and the careful adaptation of the exhibition to a new context and audience bring a renewed reading of the project. Warm thanks to @nomadexhibitions , who developed this iteration from the initial concept and spatial framework, in a way that remains faithful to its intentions while opening it to new narratives, contents and public. Thank you to the teams at @vadundee and @vitradesignmuseum , and to the curators Kirsty Hassard @kirstoir , Svetlana Panova @s.panova , Katharina Krawczyk @katharina_krawczyk and Jochen Eisenbrand @jochen_eisenbrand . Alain Bublex’s exhibition "Automobili. Una storia di innovazione concettuale" at the Museo dell’Automobile di Torino. @museoautomobile The exhibition is dedicated to his research on the history of innovation in the automobile, presented through a selection of 43 annotated models. The first intentions of this project were introduced at the Fondation Cartier @fondationcartier on the occasion of the exhibition AUTO PHOTO in 2017. Known for his work on landscape and movement, and for considering the car as an extension of the camera — or as a device to be thought through — Bublex here draws on his position as a practitioner (a former designer at Renault) to revisit the history of innovation in so-called “ordinary” automobiles. He examines the rationale behind forms and the accumulation of reasoned choices that have shaped this object, at once familiar, fantasised, and feared. Think of Lectures on Literature (I & II) by Vladimir Nabokov, or Magic Architecture by *Frederick Kiesler: a practice-driven approach that analyses objects through process, decoding decisions and placing them back into context. Naturally, Bublex would not be Bublex without having redrawn the entire set of plans and illustrations available for each model. Part of this body of work — one could call it its table of contents — is on view in Turin until 8 March 2026. @a_alainbublex #alainbublex #carhistory #cardesign #designhistory #designhistoryresearch

Aujourd’hui, vernissage de l’exposition de Alain Bublex @a_alainbublex "Automobili. #alainbublex #automobili #carinnovation #innovationhistory #contemporaryart

Next Wednesday at 10am at the Beaux-Arts de Paris (amphi 1), L’entour is welcoming Ania Martchenko, scenographer and artistic director. The event is moderated by Alexis Bertrand. It’s open to everyone and broadcast by Zoom (see codes below).   Her lecture « Modes et travaux » will deal with her practice of exhibition scenography, ranging from fashion and photography to contemporary art. Among her recent projects of 2025: an exhibition dedicated to Martin Margiela in Hangzhou, and Catwalk at the Vitra Design Museum. But her work is not only about fashion and photography, since her approach goes beyond the disciplines and questions the very exhibition itself: how to show, how to translate a universe through space? Her scenographies are playing with the limits between reality and illusion, visual deceptions, scale variations, and shifts in the way to apprehend the exhibition.   Biography: Graduated from ENSAD, Ania Martchenko is scenographer and artistic director. Her career started at Maison Martin Margiela and developed in the fields of fashion and contemporary art. She's exploring scenography as an author’s writing, through retrospectives such as Martin Margiela (2018) and Paolo Roversi (2024) at the Palais Galliera, or Man Ray and Fashion at the MoMu in Antwerp (2023). Interested in breaking down barriers between practices, and varied contexts for applying her expertise, she also invests in other areas, within the framework of collaborations: AaMb office, dedicated to furniture and interior design with Alain Bublex, or research projects combining clothing, object and architecture, like Garmenting, shown at the Design Parade Toulon in 2025 (in partnership with Antonin Simon Giraudet). She teaches at the Royal College of Art and Chelsea College of Arts in the UK, and ENSAD in France. There, she develops the notion of « accident » integrated into the practice of design and scenography applied to clothing.   Image credit: Wall Garment 1, exhibition Essayages, February 2024, Galerie La Traverse, Marseille, at the invitation of the Villa Paradis.   Connection with Zoom: Meeting ID: 823 3130 6917 Code: 312723

With great emotion, I’m sharing the images of the exhibition "Martin Margiela. Women Collections 1989–2009", now open at By Art Matters museum in Hangzhou. @byartmatters , with the support by @jnbyofficial_ and @b1ock_store . Created in 2018 with Martin Margiela for the Palais Galliera – Musée de la Mode de la Ville de Paris @palaisgallieramuseedelamode , under the curating of Alexander Samson @alexandre.samson.paris , this exhibition finds a new life in China — a rebirth that reconnects with the emotion of its first creation. This complex and large retrospective is presented for the first time in Asia, It will be visible until 2nd of February. A particular attention was put to bring back not only the content but also the feel and spirit of the first presentation in Paris. This version is inscribed in a 800m2 building in the complex of @ooelihangzhou , created by @rpbw_architects . Although far from original Galliera walls, we carefully worked on preserving the visitor experience. It is now again within reach, - for those of you who have seen it, you have a possibility to return, but also to discover new elements, and for those of you who didn't, it's a unique occasion to discover it. Endless gratitude to the wonderful teams that made it happen and who worked on and lived through this experience together - Palais Galliera: Curator Alexandre Samson, assisted by Marie Olivier, Conservation lead Corinne Dom, Production & regie Hélène Favrel, Paris Musées @parismusees Prune Blachère, Céline Marchand, Jennifer Corez, BY ART MATTERS / JNBY: Li Lin, for her inspiring presence and trust, Winnie Hu @winjlh , Shi Panjiang @superbcharles , Cai Saihou, Wu Tian, Sun Man, Dolly B1OCK: Alessio Liu @alessioliu , An Lu Yan, Wang Yi Chen, Delphine Fang, Didi Song Maison Margiela Archives @maisonmargiela , Fiona Wagner @fiona_waagner Scenography & AD @ania_martchenko Constuctors: Chance, Eric Wang, Betty Liao, Nicole Chen Lighting : DLX Lighting Design @dlx_lightingdesign , Hunter Wang Graphic design : Ann An, Elio Chen / B1OCK #martinmargielaexhibition #martinmargiela #margiela #fashionexhibition #exhibitiondesign #fashionhistory #margielahangzhou
