Got to express in print my total adoration for my all time 🐐 Babacar M’Bodj Niang, and put up big boy hits by Cheick Diallo (obviously), @imisoceramics , @kushedamensah , Pépin Antonio & Christian Ndong Menzamet, and the late, great @oladelekuku — to name but a few. To wrap up the year for @pinupmagazine , I had the idea to call on jf, the artist formerly known as Jenna Fletcher (founder of the legendary Oswalde), to curate a list of twelve of her favorite design items — one for each month of the year.
From the Barbadian Monkey Jug to the Shiro Kuramata-designed Issey Miyake stores, jf dropped hit after hit and some very clever & refreshing words and takes, essentially guiding us on a tour of beautiful, fun, and sexy objects she either owns or would like to own.
So happy with this one (which was actually a three-hour long chat that covered costco and bottled water, a$ap mob, the post-Instagram future, and David Hammons (none included))

Went flicking through the crate of drawings for this project back in July and there has to be well over a 120 proper proper drawings in there just trying to work the damn thing out. The timing just wasn’t right. But everything since I put it away keeps leading me back to it. Including the upcoming Amaza Lee Meredith book from @saintheron Press. Azurest South was a major precedent I kept returning to for energy and spirit. Time & chance, baby. Time and chance❕🍀🤞🏾
