Last few weeks in the dirt at Lucile & Hoover 🌱
An impromptu meetup - we planted cuttings from @wildyardsproject ’s Interwoven Church Garden, narrowleaf milkweed for the monarchs, and sticky cinquefoil. Alex brought compost. Wildflowers being wild - lupines, elegant clarkia, CA poppies.
Our branches got stolen - so we cut new ones and tucked them back into the soil. Too bad it’s so much fun.

Two weekends ago I had the chance to bring the Cheese Greeter to Encounter at @timeandspacela , curated by @lawnfish and @thisadamsmith .
So many amazing clowns and artists showed up with courage and curiosity - and played with me so gently. I stood in the courtyard for hours and hours, welcoming, witnessing, offering cheese. It was a joy.
The Cheese Greeter is my first real solo clown piece, after about three years of study. Even with a lifelong love of theater and filmmaking, I’ve always been a little afraid to take up space. So this felt big.
I’m heading out of Los Angeles for the spring and summer to care for my dad.
I love you LA. I love you, clowns - I can’t possibly tag all your beautiful faces, but if we’ve played, you’re in my heart. I love you, friends. And thank you, thank you, thank you to my teachers @kevingregorykrieger@meertastic@zachygoggles@idiotworkshop .

Yesterday at Lucile & Hoover 🌱
We planted native grasses and shrubs, pre-watered each hole so roots could settle in, and started shaping what this little strip can become - a little habitat growing in the margins.
Thanks so MULCH to everyone who showed up with gloves, shovels, questions, and good energy.
Afterward, we trekked up to Bellevue Park, identified the area we’d love to bring native plants to, and talked next steps - both for our LA Parks & Rec proposal and a Silver Lake Neighborhood Purpose Grant.
