This week, we spent time exploring
@londoncraftweek — an inspiring celebration of heritage, artistry, and exceptional craftsmanship.
One of the highlights was visiting
@ninacampbellltd Pimlico Road showroom, where
@martamaasfjetterstrom and
@sophiaelliottstudio hosted live demonstrations. Watching traditional weaving techniques and hand-painted decorative finishes brought a real appreciation for the skill, precision, and time behind truly handcrafted pieces.
We also visited
@andobjects , where
@ccmjoinery transformed the showroom into a live carpentry workshop, showcasing beautifully crafted woodwork and thoughtful design processes direct from its Hampshire studio.
Our final stop was
@soanebritain , where weavers Kim and Leoni demonstrated the traditional techniques behind Soane’s iconic rattan furniture and lighting. Learning about the brand’s 150-year weaving legacy and its apprenticeship programme in Leicester. It was a powerful reminder of the importance of preserving craft skills for future generations. We even tried our hand at weaving a lampshade ourselves.
Events like this are a valuable reminder that great design is not only about aesthetics, but also about the people, expertise, and heritage behind every piece.
