At Pathshala’s Resting Academy, photographers and visual artists come together from different cities, languages, even continents — Asia, Europe, the Americas and beyond — and leave as something closer to us. A 5-month international programme. A residency at Anandi Bari, West Bengal. A pond in Bengal that taught everyone something about trust. Mentors like Shuddhabrata Sengupta, Moushumi Bhowmik, Veeranganakumari Solanki, Bharat Sikka, Ruchir Joshi, Ronny Sen, Aishwarya Arumbakkam, Rohan Chakravarty, Anshika Varma, Munem Wasif, Sarker Protick. An open studio. And friendships that feel like family. It wasn’t restful. It was wild, intense, and transformative — in the best way. This is what a photography education feels like when it goes beyond the camera. 🎞️ 📩 Applications open — link in bio.

I still can’t believe this is happening. My exhibition “Chhyake” opens tomorrow at Personal Structures by @ecc_italy European Cultural Centre, @labiennale Venice Biennale 2026 Collateral Exhibition. I never imagined I’d experience a moment like this. While I can’t be there for opening week, if you happen to be in Venice, please go see it at Palazzo Mora, 2nd floor 🥹 and send me photos. I’m still hoping to make it for closing week — fingers crossed. This work exists because so many people believed in it, made space for these stories, and supported me along the way. Thank you @sarkerprotick @anandi.foundation @pathshala.institute for nominating me. Thank you @steve.bisson , @urbanautica , @pariscollegeofart , and @ecc_italy European Cultural Centre for selecting Chhyake through Blurring the Lines. And thank you to all my mentors, family, and friends who supported me through this journey. Special thank you to @photocircle_np and @kaalo.101 From Nepal to Venice. What a feeling ❤️ #VeniceBiennale2026 #ztstha #photographer #VeniceBiennale nepaliartist PC: Ecc Italy, La Venezia Biennial, Onlinekhabar, ASAP, Urbanautica

“Her Hands Are Filled With Stars” started from a simple thought, a dream of an imagined reality where women could freely reclaim public spaces at night. Being out with women at night in Makardah, photographing them, became our act of rebellion. Rest assured, no shackles can imprison our imagination, the wind will hear us, the soft ground beneath our feet will feel us and the night sky must see us. This body of work was built under the careful and delicate mentorship of @sarkerprotick and @rohan_nemo at @anandi.foundation currently on view @chennaiphotobiennale till 5th April 2026 along with works from amazing artists from all over the world, grateful to be a part of it, again. 🤍

On 4 February 2026, Resting Academy Season 3 concluded with an open-air gathering that felt more like a meaningful exchange than a formal presentation. It was a space for sharing, listening, and reflection. Unfolding across two phases — Kolkata at Anandi Foundation and Dhaka at Pathshala (Chobi Mela Edition), this cohort moved through moments of conversation and lived festival experience. With five students, the season remained close-knit and thoughtful, guided by curiosity, sensitivity, and collective learning. The open-air presentation marked more than a conclusion; it became a moment of collective gratitude for the time spent together, the patience within the process, and the trust placed in Resting Academy as a space to pause, reflect, and create. From slowing down to engaging with an international photography festival, the journey centered on depth, presence, and togetherness. Grateful for the time, the trust, and the quiet dedication that held this season so gently 🤍 Participating residents: Achyut Sood Jannan Kazmi @nileshkumar Parboni Bose Pretika Menon Photo: @DevjotiNag #restingacademy #photography #residency #restingacademy #pathshala anandifoundation
