‘Bridgerton- Season 4’ 🎀 ~ Costume Trainee We had a ball! Biggest thank you to @iamsheblackman @netflixuk @shondaland for the opportunity to work on Bridgerton last year. I learnt so much from so many amazing people. My time in Crowd, Milenary, Breakdown/dyeroom and alterations is something I will never forget Look out for the buttoniers I made during episode 6 at ‘Cressidas Ball’, I hand made every single one and I enjoyed every second of it! ‘Where The Flowers Bloom’ 🌸 ~ The Process. . . My first design project without a brief or director! I created these designs in February and I am so grateful to the team of people who helped me bring it to life. Anyone who knows my work, knows that I love to challenge myself and create a small detail that becomes insufferable during my making process. This time, it was creating flowers from scratch which included sewing each petal, cutting them all out and then hand stitching them all together and then onto the garment. I am so thankful for my patient and talented assistants @projectzhane @made.by.ceralia @tee.cre8ive that helped me with constructing these flowers and sitting with me for HOURS whilst we drove ourselves mad creating over 700 coin sized nightmares. Huge thank you to @orla.india who crocheted over 300 flowers for me. They came out so beautiful and I am in love with the depth and texture they add to the pieces. I bought the project to @askforgiulia and @devantayj with nothing but a design and they brought the vision to life. Thank you both for your hard work and incredible minds. In August I met my inspiration, @therealruthecarter , thanks to the amazing @theblackcostumenetwork !!! This was such an overwhelming moment for me as the incredible Ruth is one of the reasons why I do what I do. When I was 17, I wrote an essay about her work whilst studying @productionarts_britschool ; how incredibly detailed her designs in Black Panther were, and the magic that is ‘Afrofuturism’. I cant thank the BCN enough for this moment 🤎
