With the deepest respect and condolences to the Turner family, American Magic was saddened to read of the passing of Ted Turner. Winner of the 1977 America's Cup, Turner paved the way to the modern America's Cup. After winning the 1977 America's Cup, Turner's legacy was again highlighted with Tenacious's win in the catastrophic 1979 Fastnet Race. It is with our utmost respect that we thank Turner for what he did in our sport. Sail on, Ted. Your legacy is shining bright.

Day 3 saw teams testing the limits. With three boats on the race course there were times that it felt more like a college team race event with tacking duels, passbacks and pinning out on the line. Some fared better than others, with Wizard remaining dominent. At this point they have first place locked down. The goal now is have their scoreline remain perfect, and with only two more races, it appears within reach.
The race for second is closer than ever. Katana took second in all three races yesterday, bumping Windquest out of the silver spot holding a tazor thin one-point lead.
Windquest had some of the best boat speed on the water but faced the brunt of the boat-on-boat action, struggling to escape the wrath of Katanaโs tactical manuevers. A narrow OCS in race 2 followed by being pinned and pushed over the line in race 3 forced them to play catch up and with narrow lanes and tight shifts, they were never able to hit back. They head into the final day of racing hungry and determined.
Final day of racing begins at 12pm CST. Will anyone be able to spoil Wizardโs perfect regatta? And who will win the battle for silver?
