Remember when we all used to take pictures of our gear in the grass? Can someone start that again? Also this setup was nuts. I don’t remember which one of you ended up with that strat but that thing is something special.

Those of you around since the very early days of this page might remember a more ambient me. Someone who wrote music by basically just layering guitars on top of each other until I arrived at some unknowable “right” amount of vibe and blurred out melody. We’ve come a long way since then and decent mixes, drums, and a sense of structure are more or less here to stay. But man, this @caveandcanaryguitars Solaris brings out a nostalgic sound for me. Maybe it’s the offset vibes, the “Tele but rounder” sound of the pickups, or just the fact that it has insanely good clarity but it’s bringing out some of that old “let’s just keep playing and see where it gets us” that I’m not sure I always have these days. And I miss that feeling. As a mentor of mine once said; if less is more than imagine how much more more is.
Is this all relevant to the point of this post? Who knows. But this guitar is rad. And I enjoy it a lot. And I have a full video on it over on YouTube and you should go watch it if you also think it’s rad.
