The Field Guide has been created from our findings from the FRUITS project. These insights can be used for the development of creative exchanges to generate collective action. The Field Guide is for creative practitioners, researchers, neighbours and friends, who are enraged by systemic problems and dare to dream of a different future.

This year we were pleased to continue our ongoing collaboration with @alternativeinfrastructure presenting festival-goers with 🎓 The Social School 🤝 A space to re-think what is of ‘value’ to a community like ours and re-imagine a more cooperative future. Youngsters ventured out across the site with their Social School Passports in-hand to complete a range of missions to build a new kind of social currency ❤️ We are pleased to say we had hundreds of graduates! 🏅

Reimagining Voltaire Road features FRUITS, an interactive public art project by @christopher.gerhardt and @corbinlamont 🍎🌳
FRUITS uses Fruit Trees, portable display structures to showcase posters created during the FRUITS Street Lab, capturing the thoughts, emotions, and ideas of the Voltaire Road community.
On the day, the FRUITS Street Lab will transform Voltaire Road into a participatory space for dialogue. Residents and passersby can share reflections and aspirations, contributing to the Reimagining Voltaire Road report.

Celebrating Autumn Equinox at Squash with community members last weekend was such a hopeful time. Big thanks to all who passed by, stayed a while, joined in, danced in the street & who offered up hope.
Our collaborators Alternative Infrastructure @alternativeinfrastructure returned to Windsor Street (and the front room) to collect ‘Pieces of Hope’ from neighbours, visitors and community members. This active collection of thoughts and ideas; hopes and dreams is a further step towards envisioning the 100 Year Street for the community based in and around the Windsor Street neighbourhood.
The responses collected over the Equinox Weekender will become part of the ‘100-Year Street News’— a publication sharing community action and collective narratives.
The Equinox Weekender is part of ‘Seeds of Hope’: a series of hopeful happenings taking place all across the UK this autumn, with community growing and nature connection at their heart.
Inspiring community-led events are taking place all across the UK with support from @jrf_uk – from Inverness to Hastings via Liverpool, Powys, Bristol and beyond – reflecting the hope and solidarity we know exists in communities everywhere, and inviting all of us to get behind it.
Amid concern about the rise of far-right populism and widespread feelings of fatalism, these celebrations of amazing people and communities growing hope and building belief in better futures are exactly what we need right now.

We began our relationship with the street on Atlantic Rd, Brixton in June 2023. The Brixton neighborhood has been the place for a lot of our on-ground learnings, so we were glad to share the development of FRUITS at the 3-day Community Research Exchange (CRX) event hosted by our dearest partners at the @brixtonproject .
We got to talk to members of the community, as well other creative/community work practitioners and funders/organisations; and ask them the important question of: How we want to live? and what does living freely look like?
