It’s more important than ever to support local independent businesses 💛
Things are tough at the moment - especially for independent businesses across every sector. Rising costs, changing habits and increasing pressures are being felt by so many of the brilliant people behind the places we all love.
From family-run restaurants and local pubs to salons, studios and shops, these businesses are what give Clapham its personality, creativity and community spirit.
Behind every independent is someone working incredibly hard to keep their doors open and continue doing what they love.
So next time you grab a coffee, go for dinner, book a treatment or buy a gift… think local 💫

Meet Farah, owner of @sugarcanesalon in the heart of Clapham Old Town.
Sugar Cane recently celebrated its 5th birthday and has become a real local favourite for a bit of self-care, whether that’s nails, massage, aesthetics, makeup or a full glow-up.
Farah is also a talented artist and actually used to rent a studio at Studio Voltaire - we love all the local connections in Clapham 💛
The team here are brilliant at what they do and you can tell how much care goes into every treatment.
Basically… this is your sign to stop putting it off and go book that appointment.

🌈 #ClaphamPride is L O A D I N G
This June, Clapham is coming together to celebrate 30 years since Pride took over Clapham Common, and we’re marking the occasion with a brand new event: Clapham Pride Community Day!
With live music, arts & crafts, family activities, and the return of the much-loved Clapham Mutts Dog Show, hosted by comedian and actor Lee Peart. There’s something for everyone to enjoy.
Back on 6 July 1996, Clapham Common became the beating heart of London Pride, bringing together activists, locals and pop icons including Boy George, Pet Shop Boys and Erasure.
Three decades later, Omnibus Theatre and @thisisclapham are bringing the community back together.
📍 The Polygon, Clapham Common 🗓️ Saturday, 27 JUNE | 12PM – 9PM 🎟 FREE, just turn up!
More exciting announcements coming soon, watch this space!

A day of getting hands dirty for a greener Clapham 🌿💚
Our This is Clapham gardening team, alongside volunteers from @hushofficial and the @claphamsociety , came together for a brilliant greening day across the area.
From planting and painting near the fire station, to refreshing the wildflower bed, sanding the curved bench on the Polygon, and replanting the wooden planters by Sainsbury’s Clapham North - a lot was achieved 🌱
Huge thank you to Michael from the @claphamsociety the @hushofficial team and volunteers, and of course our amazing gardeners Paul and Ella 👏
A real community effort - and Clapham is looking all the better for it 🌼
