Some recent work with @redbullracing Massive shout out to @north_wes_tonight and @redbullracing for giving me creative freedom as a gaffer. We were lucky enough to have a pretty large space for this shoot so utilised @arri HMI’s through the shutters and then @nanlux LED fixtures inside the warehouse bounced into a combination of 12x12’s and @thelightbridge 100’s. For the low fog scenes we then had an array of @creamsource and @asteraofficial fixtures hooked up to @almagill on the desk. For a quick scene to add some variety into the edit we rolled in a Mac viper on a section of truss and a long John. My brilliant rigging team, Danny Grove and Ade Wright looked after us and were a proper joy. Thanks to @andy_holbrook and his team on cameras. @shl.london provided all the lighting kit and were a joy as always, making sure I was covered for any scenario. My lighting team really put a shift in and were still all smiles even after the sun had gone down. @almagill @declanlikesflowers @charlie_lodge @alex_____styles Also @willcorneliusphotography and @jolly.lights and the rest of the stills team gave us a helping hand throughout the night. Fun studio job with DP Stephen Dunn and director Oscar Ryan with the guys from Park Village. This was the first job where I managed to get all of my @arri skypanel X’s in an overhead soft box, utilising the high CRI mode. We then used @nanlux_global 2400 and 1200’s combined with @thelightbridge mirrors for everything on the floor. Gaffering for my wonderful friend @thomasterminet and directed by @freddie_leyden recently featured on @directorsnotes A combination of tungsten doing its’ usual magic and a few @aputure.lighting heads for when we needed that additional punch. But then again when you’re lucky enough to be in a location this beautiful it’s hard to make it look bad when you’ve also got great composition from your DP. Also a shout out to @marty_colour for really making this one shine. "The deep deep reds and thick dark colour palette hint at the undercurrent of violence and pain that runs through the piece." @freddie_leyden discusses pushing the colour grade to best represent the horrors of the slave trade for his innovative @enamgd starring dance film 'Under the Skin of a Guild: Wake of Lost Souls'. We also talk about shooting in @guildhalllondon , the legacy of colonialism, and combining three tracks in one for the enigmatic soundtrack.
