six years ago in berlin, when we launched the shower filter, the first comment on our ads was that it looked like an anal douche. should have taken that as a sign.

honestly it’s mostly just been doing things before you’re ready. recording a voiceover 30 minutes before an event. pirating cassette tapes for a mailer. forgetting it needed batteries to run. building a 250 person guest list in two weeks. taking calls while running to catch a bullet train. having a manufacturer casually offer us a missile mid-meeting.
first version is never right and that’s fine. you just get better each time. the whole thing is built by doing, not by sitting in a room thinking and talking.
+ it’s mostly just been people. team that became friends, friends that became team, creatives, partners that became friends too. it all kind of overlaps, and that’s genuinely the best part.
