The RALLY - 6th July 2026 No checkpoints. No tracking. No deadlines. No crews. No pressure.
Ride solo. Ride together. Draft, stop for lunch, camp high, take a swim, or sit and watch the sun rise. Just adventure — on your terms, but never alone. If that sounds like your kind of ride, come and join us 📍 6th July 2026 💬 Ryan completed the RALLY last year - “Immense thanks to @alpsdivide for the passion and care poured into crafting such a beautiful route.” 📸 Images from last summer’s RALLY riders . . . . . #bikepacking #bikepackingroute #bikepackingrally #alpsdivide #bikepackingadventures

The ULTRA might have filled in just 12 hours, but there is still space to join our RALLY this July. The RALLY brings people together at the start, then lets friendships form naturally on the road. Ride as a group one day, head off solo the next, or meet back up to camp in the evening. There’s a shared WhatsApp group to swap route intel, plan meet-ups, share accommodation, or just check in with familiar names along the way. You’re completely self-sufficient — but part of something bigger. If you like the idea of adventure with camaraderie, this might be your rally. We’ll be honest — this route is not easy. But it is rewarding in all the right ways. 📍 6th July 2026 💬 Steff completed the RALLY last year - “The Alpsdivide was an incredible adventure — filled with tough climbs, glorious descents, a beautifully varied route through some of the most stunning valleys in the Alps, and new friendships formed along the way. It was such a joy to be part of this, and I’m truly grateful to all of you who made it happen. A huge thank you for organising this!” 📸 Images from last summer’s RALLY riders 👀 Link in the bio 🔝 . . . . . #bikepacking #bikepackingroute #bikepackingrally #alpsdivide #bikepackingadventures

Can you spot the rider? 👀 Hidden somewhere in each image — a rider, alone in the landscape. It’s a reminder that the mountains are always bigger, wilder, and more humbling than we imagine. And that’s exactly why we ride them. . . . . . #AlpsDivide #UltraCycling #Bikepacking #WildMountains #AdventureCycling #RideTheMountains #HumanPowered #RideTheAlps #bikepackingraces #bikepackingultra #bikepackingrally

📣 Next year’s dates are out! 📣 🗓️ Our third and final ULTRA kicks off Sept 5, 2026
🚀 Registration opens Oct 25, 2025 @ 10am CET — only 100 spots. First come, first served. ⏰ Set that reminder & don’t miss your chance. 🏁 Our RALLY rolls out July 6, 2026 — registration is already LIVE! Why 2026 Will Be Our Last Year… While we’re deeply touched by the many people saying, ‘Nooo, you can’t stop, it’s such an amazing ULTRA—you have to keep it going!’, the truth is that from the very beginning, this was always meant to be a three-year passion project. And there are a few reasons why. Firstly, the Alps Divide was always about creating a bikepacking route, not an event. Five years ago, options were limited in the Alps: you had the Route des Grandes Alpes (all on paved roads) or the GR5 hiking trail (not enough riding). We wanted something in between—a true “divide” bikepacking route across the Western Alps, from sea to lake, avoiding the traffic of the big road passes but far more rideable than the GR5. That’s how the Alps Divide was born. The ULTRA came later, as a way to promote and establish the route, and as a way for us to give back to a sport we love. Secondly, the event runs under a non-profit association here in France. That means we’re not a business—just volunteers giving hundreds of hours each year to bring the Alps Divide to life. It’s our contribution to the bikepacking community, but sadly, it’s not something we can personally sustain indefinitely. The good news? The route itself isn’t going anywhere. The Alps Divide route and its website will continue to live on for anyone who wants to tour it. Could there be a “Grand Départ” in the future? Maybe 🤷‍♀️. But what’s certain is that 2026 will be the last year we personally organise the ULTRA and the RALLY. 📸 @ospreyimagery - Erin & Jono climbing the Cime de la Bonette (2860m)

Less than a day since the final cutoff, and most riders have returned home. But what remains is the community we created, the memories we made, and the goals we conquered. Ultra events are never just about the finish line. They’re about the strangers who become friends, challenges that forge resilience, and the quiet victory found in standing on the start line. To everyone who rode, and the supporters who cheer on from afar — chapeau. These events wouldn’t exist without you. 🎥- @lloydjwright Our partners: @opinelofficiel @gorewear @ridewithgps #ultracycling #bikepacking #adventurecycling #cycling #gravel #gravelbike #endurancecycling #cyclethealps #longdistancecycling #cyclingultra #alpsdivide #alpsdivide2025 @dotwatcher.cc

The stunning Vallée de la Clarée, with it's beautiful panoramas of the Cerces and Ecrins Massif provides arguably the most spectacular backdrop of the route for the riders as they tackle the tough hike-a-bike to the top of the col.  While hike-a-bike always splits opinion, the consensus on this one is clear, with every rider we encountered on route exclaiming how much they were enjoying the section. "100% worth it" and "this is what I'm here for" were heard more than once. After the challenging push the riders are treated to rideable single-track past two lakes on the platou before a serpentine descent on wide gravel tracks into the valley below. 📸 @ospreyimagery A big thank you to our partners: @opinelofficiel @gorewear @ridewithgps @dotwatcher.cc #alpsdivide #ultracycling #alpsdivide2025 #bikepacking #cycling #endurancecycling #cyclethealps #longdistancecycling #cyclingultra #ridefar #dotwatcher.cc

Cap 96 - Cédric Aubert, our only two-time Alps Divide finisher and all-round total legend. We caught Cedric on a ripping alpine descent where he was in his usual epic mood despite multiple mechanicals, swollen face from crashing over his bars and covered in cow poo after a run-in with a mucker spreader! Your positive attitude encapsulates the spirit that we love to see on the event. Thank you to every rider that lined up in Menton a week ago. The route is tough and very challenging but we’re so happy with feedback from riders saying how much they enjoyed the route. We love this ultra bikepacking community and the environments that continually astound us 🙏 📸 @bicycle_factory Our partners: @opinelofficiel @gorewear @ridewithgps #ultracycling #bikepacking #adventurecycling #cycling #gravel #gravelbike #endurancecycling #cyclethealps #longdistancecycling #cyclingultra #alpsdivide #alpsdivide2025 @dotwatcher.cc

There are many ways to tackle an ultra, there is no “right way”, but sometimes the best way is to go at our own pace, enjoy the ride and appreciate the time we have to do such things. We caught up with @i_like_the_long_way on her way up to CP2 and felt like she encapsulated this perfectly. 🎥- @lloydjwright Our partners: @opinelofficiel @gorewear @ridewithgps #ultracycling #bikepacking #adventurecycling #cycling #gravel #gravelbike #endurancecycling #cyclethealps #longdistancecycling #cyclingultra #alpsdivide #alpsdivide2025 @dotwatcher.cc

Meggie Bichard put it a monumental effort yesterday and continued on to ride through the night, catching and passing Simone Eder while everyone else was sleeping. She's now on track to arrive in Thonon-les-Bains as the second woman home! Keep an eye on the tracker to see how this one plays out! 📸 @ospreyimagery 🚴‍♀️@megbichard A big thank you to our partners: @opinelofficiel @gorewear @ridewithgps @dotwatcher.cc   #alpsdivide #ultracycling #alpsdivide2025 #bikepacking #cycling #endurancecycling #cyclethealps #longdistancecycling #cyclingultra #ridefar #dotwatcher.cc

In ultra cycling, personal mantras matter, they can be the difference between a night time scratch or the best morning you’ve ever had on a bike. Quiet reminders to keep you pushing forwards towards the finish line. 🎥- @lloydjwright Our partners: @opinelofficiel @gorewear @ridewithgps #ultracycling #bikepacking #adventurecycling #cycling #gravel #gravelbike #endurancecycling #cyclethealps #longdistancecycling #cyclingultra #alpsdivide #alpsdivide2025 @dotwatcher.cc
