Bikes of the HT550 2026 is live with new bikes just added!
The Highland Trail 550 is one of the most hotly anticipated races in the European calendar, it is notoriously difficult thanks to the technical riding, Scottish inclement weather, lengthy hike a bike and river crossings.
This 550 mile (880km) route and its organiser, Alan Goldsmith, have attracted a 50:50 gender split, a rarity in bikepacking events. There are a total of 62 riders lining up in Tyndrum tomorrow morning. The route follows three different loops of the highlands and the first half will lure the rookies into a false sense of security with plenty of rideable singletrack and fast estate roads. The second half is much less forgiving and often where the real race starts.
