Revisiting fabric origami in costume making, applying traditional origami paper folding techniques to textiles for a costume I’m developing with the brilliant wardrobe team @perththeatreandconcerthall
Costumes have to be robust to survive performance and handle being packed and toured, so we’ve been experimenting with materials and methods to make origami wearable and performance-proof.
Results to follow…..

It’s a total treat to have my work included in the @mcmanusdundee ‘Curtain Call’ exhibition and have my costumes stand amongst the work of such a brilliant group of Scottish designers and makers.
Looping: Scotland Overdub was choreographed by @felipedeassis___@wwwleofranca and @ritaaquino05 in 2018 for Scottish Dance Theatre.
I was incredibly lucky to have textiles by @timorous_beasties to work with, the amazing wardrobe team @dundeerep to make the costumes and an unbelievably talented group of dancers from @scottishdancetheatre to wear them.
It’s also lovely to see these costumes again.
And to get a star with my name on it! ⭐️

Thanks so much to the amazing Wardrobe team @dundeerep@scottishdancetheatre for ensuring that the costumes for ‘Moving Cloud’ are looking their best for the upcoming triple bill, Scottish Roots.
“Featuring the haunting O Chiadain and Lo, the wild joy of Moving Cloud, and the premiere of Off-Season, a brand-new creation by Edinburgh-based choreographer Tess Letham - this triple bill invites you to experience the thrill of bodies in motion and the pulse of music that bridges tradition and innovation. This is a celebration of four decades of passion, creativity and connection.”

These jackets for @vince_virr and @kj9tweezy were an absolute labour of love. Many hours spent upcycling shell suit jackets, unpicking, patch-working together to form a satisfying pattern, unpicking on the bus, playing with colour, carefully cutting out shapes, pinning, unpicking in the sunshine, tacking, more unpicking, and constantly changing the thread on the machine to colour match each patch and satisfy my perfectionist tendencies.
Worth the effort for many reasons.
