Meet our friend Ellen and her doll Elma. @ashestoemberscollective
Ellen and her loving mother made Elma in the camps of Rafah. Ellen and her family have endured unimaginable trauma while being subjected to this horrific conflict and slaughter of innocent people. This genocide.
Ellen wanted Elma to only have one arm so Elma could be like the other children she sees in the camps with missing limbs so they do not feel alone.
Understanding the complexity of the impact this has on children and adults can only be understood by obtaining testimonials in their narrative form, not by the carefully crafted wording politicians and media use.
Our priority as a society should be eradicating the sources of trauma and alleviating the suffering of innocent people caught in the crossfires of senseless violence.
Turning a blind eye will not make it go away. It will only perpetuate the myth of ignorance.
