feels so surreal to write this, but: @karma_sheen ‘s @kexp session is now available to watch back on their youtube channel. absolute madness. what a milestone for us, for me personally, it was just such an honour. i can’t tell you the sheer amount of emotions i went through whilst we recorded these songs (all in one take!) fear, excitement, the nerves, the worry, the gratitude, the “what the HELL are we doing right now?!” - all of it all at the same time just poured out into this performance. im so happy with it, and so happy and bewildered but ultimately grateful we got to do this. thank you to the @kexp team (special shouts to @djmorganseattle for the pep talk beforehand!!) and the rest of the crew on the day. you made us feel at ease and as a result we played one of the best sets ever. thanks to @iamcarloscruz for these awesome photos. next stop: @sxsw austin texas!! 🇺🇸

hello everyone! ☀️ been a minute, returning back to life after my fifth 10 day silent meditation retreat 👽 whilst i was away, i found out that the submission i put together for the recent @nts_radio supporter mix series was broadcast, super thrilled! it’s a very very nerdy mix on the sounds of a not very well known synth called the trautonium. from the description of the mix: “It’s rare: an instrument where the number of composers who use it barely reach double digits. The Trautonium. Somewhat forgotten, but eternally ethereal, this mix represents the 1930’s synth’s incredible expressive capabilities across experimental electronic and contemporary classical music.” It’s a fascinating piece of musical history which I was inspired to detail about in a Substack article, providing further context on the synth and giving recommended listening outside of the NTS mix. You can listen to mix and read the article at link in bio. past, present and future in its sound, I hope you find something soothing, otherworldly, or just plain weird in this exploration! the first time i heard this synth it was from a video of @tludowic and i fell i. move with it instantly, and i hope you do too! arun x
