Dreams, grit and tears in this mix, shaking off existential dread at @radio_panini a few weeks back. Playing moody 100bpm, murky vocals, chuggy rollers - reflective of political and environmental tensions I'm feeling. ~~~ 1. SINNAZ on @sonido_isla into @toumba__ 2. @brend4_internacional into PLUS ONE 3. DJ Pausas x DJ Fofuxo on @principediscos_verdadeiro into @simocellmusic 4. Earth Sounds Collective. A track from Convergence - a project where each member submitted different works, including paintings, poetry, field recordings, and musical experiments, taking turns responding to each other's contributions. 5. Simo Cell into @ambit.dj debut EP "In the Dark" @beatricem._bait 6. @hassanaboualam into @le.e.se 7. @_muskila x @hedohydr8 into Prizefight on @hardlinesounds 8. Responding to very human prompts in this cli-fi (climate science fiction) short story in the first book by @critical.design_ - REBELLION. A story of ecological reckoning, corporate resistance, and the radical act of learning to listen to more-than-human voices. I wrote about a mycologist who helped a corporation sever Earth's communication, now fleeing to find a hidden lab dedicated to interspecies dialogue. You'll also find essays, poems, manifestos, and conversations in this issue from incredible people sharing from the heart. Building on School of Critical Design's philosophy of minimalism, meditation, and thinking-through-working, the book invites you to contemplate your own responses. It's riso-printed and loop-bound by @sorriso_publishing . Tactile and inviting. Journal, doodle, draw directly on its pages. Prompts: - Why do we need rebellion right now? - What's the relationship between rebellion and care, or rebellion and love? - Why is critical thinking rebellious? - How do we rebel from within systems? Thank you, Gemma Jones, for the invite and for a beautiful, emergent creative process. ❤️ Limited print run available via @metalabel__ Link in bio👽

I've been metabolizing time differently since @futuredays.io . Staying with what emerged at this gathering of practitioners, artists, activists all nested in overlapping timelines, navigating uncertainty together, I wrote this piece. As old frameworks bring us to the edge, maybe we refuse reductionist logic. Sit with questions that don't resolve. Ask whose temporal experience gets archived, whose imagination shapes which futures become thinkable. We need foresight to help us inhabit uncertainty, but maybe changing how we think about the future could start with changing our relationship with time. Key threads I explore: 🌀 Foresight practitioners are embracing complexity as creative fuel 🌀 Archive gaps may constrain imagination 🌀 Temporal privilege shapes whose futures are heard 🌀 Physical space influences thinking quality You can find the full article on my vrtrash.substack or in the Future Days Annual Report (links in comments). What if changing how we think about futures requires changing our relationship with time itself? My essay "Foresight in Practice: Inhabiting Time" for @futuredays.io is an invitation to contemplate how can we practice foresight with multiple temporalities without collapsing them into one dominant frame - something that feels urgent. 3 key insights emerged: 🌀Temporal presence - The practice of staying deeply present with current complexity while expanding our imaginative capacity 🌀The politics of imagination - Whose temporal experiences get archived directly shapes which futures become thinkable 🌀Spatial dimensions of time - Our relationship with time is deeply connected to where and how our thinking takes place. The essay (see pages 55 - 74) draws on generous research and praxis shared by @gem_shandy @lexfefegha @xonorika @sohailinayatullah @ingridmhu @elaheheheheh and others, weaving in insights from @robhopkins5085 and Donna Haraway. It sits alongside powerful essays from @merisahade @gnormica @elenicucci @paularydel Design by @catariinaarodrigues Link to download report in bio. Always curious to hear how others are navigating these tensions. 🌱

Why do some ecosystems withstand disruption while others collapse? The answer lies in biodiversity: the more intertwining exists, the denser and more resilient the weave becomes. Inspired by the visions of a new planetary reality seeded in the Planetary Civics Inquiry by @darkmatter_labs @rmituniversity and Politics for Tomorrow, my lens is set to a wider aperture in this provocation. I explore what we could learn from nature to organise ourselves and creative economies in new ways. Forests as teachers: 🟢 Forests show us how creative ecosystems could thrive when value flows back to their roots. 🟢 Big tech behaves like palm plantations, draining resources while starving the cultural soil. 🟢 When crisis hits, diverse networks withstand shocks that topple monocultural systems. 🟢 Maybe "enough" is better than "more"? 🟢 Current systems turn abundance into scarcity, trading rich cultural forests for sterile digital monocrops. 🌀 Link to vrtrash.substack article in bio. If this resonates, I'd love to hear from other curious minds ;) 📸 Glass sculpture by Vlastimil Beranek Basilica Cistern, Istanbul, 2024

What does it mean to embed personal style into artifical neural nets? How to create sound with randomness? How does a mutual voice emerge as a result of creating an album? In this special episode on ufo.fm, @hexorcismos , @nickhollins_ and I explore how semilla.ai, a neural audio synthesiser, reaimagines research into randomness and music creation practices. MUTUALISMX: becoming sonic networks is out now on @0p__0__ with AI visual artwork by @hypereikon Shout out to all artists @ale_hophop @baby_vulture @upanisha_ds @khyamallami @kloxii @_kamaru_ @brotheraten @portraitxo @siminaoprescu @visionsoflizard Full episode up top 〰️〰️〰️
