The Five Blind Boys of Mississippi were shaping a sound rooted in gospel, rhythm, and raw emotion.
Formed in the late 1930s at the Piney Woods School, their music carried intensity and spirit that would later echo through soul and rock ’n’ roll.
More than a group, they are part of the foundation — voices that didn’t just perform, but transformed the direction of modern music.

Stretching across the Sahel, the Great Green Wall is one of Africa’s most ambitious environmental initiatives.
Led by African countries and supported by the African Union, the project focuses on restoring degraded land, fighting desertification and supporting communities impacted by climate change.
What began as the vision of a tree barrier across the continent has evolved into a broader movement centered on land restoration, agriculture, water conservation and ecological recovery.
By 2030, the initiative aims to restore 100 million hectares of land across the region.

Blending education, fashion, live styling and runway presentation, the event created space for textured hair to be celebrated not as a trend, but as artistry, identity and innovation.
From sculptural afros to sharply tailored runway moments, Texture On Set brought together hairstylists, creatives, beauty leaders and industry voices for a celebration rooted in craft and representation.
More than a beauty event, the experience highlighted the power and versatility of Black hair across fashion, editorial and culture.

In Winneba Ghana the Aboakyer Festival is more than a celebration it is a living tradition shaped by history community and ritual
Among its most striking expressions the youth take the streets in red cloth body paint and leaves carrying symbols tied to strength readiness and ancestral connection Each detail holds meaning rooted in the legacy of the Effutu people and their relationship to the land and the hunt
Through movement sound and presence they embody a bridge between generations where culture is not preserved quietly but lived out loud

Celebrated once a year in southern Algeria, Sebeiba is a Tuareg festival where dance rhythm and ceremonial dress come together in a powerful expression of cultural memory.
Recognized by UNESCO as part of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity, the celebration traces back generations within Amazigh communities of Djanet. Through sword dances chants and movement, participants honour peace identity and ancestral tradition in the heart of the Sahara.
More than a festival, Sebeiba transforms the desert into a living stage of heritage resilience and collective pride.
