a new season.
sixty days ago, I stepped into season seven of the @tamronhallshow as the head of the wardrobe department.
working with @tamronhall and team has been a beautiful whirlwind of full-throttle creativity, unfettered imagination and professional growth.
in trademark fashion, i’ve kept my head down - much preferring to let the work speak for itself.
but i’m popping out for a sec as i’m incredibly proud of the results so far; the looks, the collaborations behind them, and the energy that we bring to daytime tv every single day.
we are just getting started, and i can’t wait to share more of the magic we’ve been creating behind the scenes! ok back to work i go…
“esse quam videri” is a latin phrase that translates to “to be, rather than to seem.”
this was my school motto at the academy in sierra leone. it clearly sank deeper than I thought.
spent the day on one of my fave beaches in grenada. thankful to rest confident in the knowledge that one doesn’t need to be at the opening of every envelope, when you have always been a consistent container.
stepping into a new era of possibility rarely comes without a fight. but we are built for it. always have been.
this election season is thankfully coming to a close, but there is still plenty of work to be done.
here is the next generation of my family - my three beautiful nieces born and growing up in “battleground” states michigan and north carolina.
all three now beautiful young women who are first time voters. and taller than me!
the conversations we’ve had over the past few months have been equal parts sobering and inspirational.
helping them parse the barrage of news, noise and nonsense, i just kept reminding them (and myself) to “vote for self, for those you love, and for the future you want to see”.
they all voted this morning.
and i voted for them.
there’s no place like home? let’s hope so.
