Ran into the talented and good brother @chris_hierro the other day, and with the Subway Series underway I’m posting a throwback to that time I directed the wife of a Yankee legend in @lauraposadalifestyle for Taxi Amarillo. This was my second video for this group. Their energy was always authentic and great to capture. I still listen to this album to this day! We worked fast to honor Laura’s schedule as soon as we wrapped she was heading straight to the Bronx to support her husband for Game 1 of the World Series against Philly. I still remember the brief side eye she gave me as a die hard Mets fan lol but she was such a joy to direct; professional, full of energy, and one of those human beings with “aura” before that was a thing. It was a skeleton crew, a long day, and a lot of creative pivoting, but I had my A1 Day 1s with me. In retrospect I was blessed to work with a band this talented, my A-list crew, and an actress with this kind of presence. Shoots like these are special. Here’s to more.

A few weeks ago I completed a two week initiative as one of 5 filmmakers to be paired with researchers to create a science inspired short experimental film with the theme of “the beauty of mathematics”. #TBT I Directed and Edited this towards the end of film school I believe . Went back to my high school to ask for permission to shoot here. Had to convince my ex principal that this Hip Hop song wasn’t pushing anything negative 😅 and he gave us the green light. Dealing with permits from the DOE was a nightmare however. Told @lightertod we need dancers and he pulled up DEEP all the way from the Bronx to Brooklyn. These kids went off! It was my first time learning about “get lite”. This was before “it’s showtime” on the train became well known all over. Also when HD cameras started becoming more accessible so @cinematographydb and I were out filming a music video for what felt like every week! What a time. It was BRIC and we were OUTSIDE About two weeks ago we screened our work in progress documentary Safe At Home: Breaking The Cycle as part of @bricbrooklyn Documentary Intensive Cohort. We explored the connection between black moms postpartum depression and black men’s mental health. The response was amazing and we can’t wait to finish showing you the rest of the conversations we have in store. Link in our bio for our fundraiser. I got left on SEEN by so many people when reaching out about my documentary that it was another moment of gratitude when Milka from one of my favorite restaurants @rasplantbased didn’t hesitate to offer donating a meal to feed the men during our Brotherhood Ceremony. Less than a week later their second location was affected by a fire. They are a testament to the power of community if you see the responses they have been getting. If you find it in your heart to be apart of that frequency and their inevitable recovery I encourage you to show them your support in any way possible Thank you @rasplantbased
