Labocine is much more than a platform—it is a living ecosystem, lab, and archive supporting independent artists, scientists, and researchers. We’re grateful to be shaping the Science New Wave community as it continues to grow, and in many ways, the platform itself has been shaped by observing you—our contributors and our audience. We will keep evolving carefully, consciously, and inclusively—toward “endless forms most beautiful.”
2026 brings us into our 10th year at Labocine.

Pick of the day"The Flowers Stand Silently, Witnessing" directed by Theo Panagopoulos.
The Flowers Stand Silently received an Honorable Mention at the 18th Annual Science New Wave Festival.
When a Palestinian filmmaker based in Scotland unearths a rarely-seen Scottish film archive of Palestinian wild flowers, he decides to reclaim the footage. This tender essay film questions the role of image-making as a tool of both testimony and violence when connected to entanglements between people and land.

As we wrap up, Imagine Science Films now enters a hibernation phase, diving into the currents of the Science New Wave.
Over the years, designers, artists, and scientists have channeled a few genetic expressions of this wave, showcased in this slideshow. To stay part of this ongoing genetic drift, where scientific ideas and experimentation persist and evolve, visit @labocine and become a Science New Wave Member.
