From huge street murals to gallery walls – watch as Matt Adnate receives the Packing Room Prize 2024 for his striking portrait of musician @dabakerboy .  Titled ‘Rhythms of heritage’, the portrait was created mostly with @adnate ’s signature medium of spray paint and represents Baker Boy’s journey as an artist, featuring a captivating reflection of Arnhem Land landscape in his eyes. Resharing this special project in collaboration with @djirridjirri dance group, my brother from the same mother @temple.step.project the @artscentremelbourne and @round3films The Myer Music Bowl is a place deeply connected to music, movement and performance, so it felt natural to paint the Djirri Djirri dancers and the Brown family, who I’ve had the honour of painting and working alongside for over 10 years. To witness their ceremonies and performances over the years has been something that stays with you. They continue to inspire me and influence my work in ways that last a lifetime.
