@smugone took the freshly handpainted @squidlicker 911 on a little road trip to #silocountry . This is how it all went down. The car was wrapped before @squid.licker went to town on it by the legends ay @vinagecustoms @lameroosiloart @montanacans @duluxaus

Something big is coming to Footscray in May. 4 of Australia's greatest mural artists and 2 international heavyweights, are joining forces for a new large-scale public art project in the heart of Melbourne’s west. Just moments from the station, Indi Footscray is setting a new benchmark for Build to Rent living, with culture built into the experience from day one. Stay tuned for updates as this laneway gets transformed into a permanent, outdoor art gallery, showing off the best of the west. @juddyroller @indi.living @investapropertygroup

Why do some architects choose concrete over culture, culture? Art can be catalyst for change. Integrating it into the built environment changes the identity of a building from something that is rarely noticed at best, to something that enhances the lives of the people that see it everyday. Integrating public art into developments and buildings is actually one of the fastest, most low friction ways to make a town or city feel more alive.

Silo Art doesn't have to be boring. @smugone has a way of taking any theme "gifted" to us and creating a work that ultimately leaves 90% of other silos in the dust. The level of detail, colour and composition of @smugone paintings are what sets him apart. He's been painting for over 25 years and yet somehow, every artwork he creates still feels fresh. Smug, we commend you! This work was created in October in Kapunda, South Australia, the gateway to the states famed wine region , the Barossa. @duluxaus @kapundamuraltown @kapundahomehardware

Not all street art is created equal. The difference isn’t style, or technical ability. It's about the thought, intention and risk involved. Now of course, not all art (especially in the commercial realm) can be controversial, conceptual or too challenging, but artists and audiences need to make room for more challenging moments. Not every piece needs to be liked by everyone. Thousands of likes and shares doesn't equate to peer review, or a successful outcome. It just means you outdid the algorithm. Artists and curators grow when they are challenged. And all too often huge guard rails are placed around artists by commissioners during the conceptual phase of projects. Yet, when an artist is given more creative freedom to grow and explore, often these projects turn out to be the most memorable. If you are interested in learning more, hit the link on in the bio.

What can we say? Being invited to curate and produce a brand new, flagship 3000 square meter entertainment venue for @teeg_life / @kingpin_play was a dream. We brought together some of the worlds most talented artists to create over 20 pieces throughout the venue. One of the stars of the show, was @jaycaes . We discovered his work only a few years ago, after witnessing one of his signature large scale "glitch" artworks at @yardworksglasgow . Since then we've been quielty waiting for the perfect project to lure him here. When @jared_neal01 approached us to curate the venue, we knew it was time for @jaycaes arrival. The results. Are. Stunning . His dedication to his craft is evident in every stroke and spray. From signature anamorphic work that adorns Kingpins hallways, or the his contemporary take on prince and princess themes, which was accompanied by fully programmable interactive lighting care of the team at @constructionzone_cz , his work stands out as a main event. To see not only @jaycaes work, but also one of the best mural collections in the country, visit @kingpin_play Melbourne and be in awe of the dedication, skill and talent of the artists that contributed to such a stunning transformation. @kingpin_play @teeg_life @juddyroller
