It’s not often you see snakes in Scotland, but came across an Adder whilst doing some fieldwork for a project I’m doing with @bill.duncan.1253 in the summer.

Early video art from Yugoslavia (1969-1991) screening and discussion with Barbara Borčić and the Rewind project team. Featuring pioneering work from Dragan Abjanić, Miha Vipotnik, Marko Kovačič, Zemira Alajbegović, Neven Korda & Sanja Iveković. Rewind Yugoslavia is an AHRC-funded project conducting research into video art histories in the former Yugoslavia between 1969-91. In this event, the project team from Robert Gordon University, Aberdeen and DJCAD, University of Dundee, will be joined by Barbara Borčić, media art historian and curator from Ljubljana. The panel will introduce and discuss their latest research and show work from Slovenia, Croatia and Macedonia. Join us to see rare and little-known video works from Yugoslavia and to hear more about the project’s work and future outcomes. @djcad_uod @graysschoolofartaberdeen

Great time in Amsterdam last week at @lima_media_art transformation digital art conference that I presented at. Saw an exhibition curated by @constantdullaart at @upstreamgallery , @jeremydeller talk as part of sonic arts festival (which featured Dundee) which was followed by experimental music and visited the original Montevideo video art centre, which is now @ramon.coelho.62 studio who is creating a mini version of Marina Abramovic’s The House with the Ocean View.

The REWIND Yugoslavia team are excited to welcome you to a discussion of their AHRC-funded research project on Wednesday, 19 November at 1800 GMT, on Zoom. REWIND Yugoslavia is researching the history of Yugoslav video art from 1969-1991. We will be outlining the scope and methodology of our project, discussing how this latest iteration of REWIND Artists’ Video relates to the previous projects; the extent of the research being carried out in Bosnia-Herzegovina, North Macedonia, Serbia, Croatia and Slovenia, and a presentation of fieldwork and findings to date. These presentations by each of the team - Jon Blackwood, Laura Leuzzi, Adam Lockhart and Maja Zećo - will be augmented by the screening of some video pieces that fit into our 1969-1991 timeframe. We hope also to answer your questions and discuss the project with you! We look forward to seeing you there! REWIND Yugoslavia is a collaboration between Gray’s School of Art at RGU and DJCAD at the University of Dundee.
