Botanical Reverie is a new solo exhibition by artist Inês Hermione Mulford @ineshermioneart , bringing together intricate botanical works alongside anthropological explorations of our relationship with the more-than-human world. Mulford's work moves beyond traditional botanical illustration, combining detailed studies of plant life with a wider enquiry into how we see, understand, and situate ourselves within the natural world. As part of the exhibition programme, two leading scientists from the Royal Botanic Garden Edinburgh will present public talks: - Dr Neil Bell, bryologist, will speak on mosses, liverworts and hornworts — revealing their surprising diversity and global significance. - Dr Becky Yahr, Lichen Biodiversity Scientist, will share insights into the fascinating world of lichens and their vital ecological roles. With origins dating back to 1493, it is thought to be the oldest building in Leith and is topped by Edinburgh’s sole surviving 17th century steeple, now equipped with all the amenities you can expect from a modern workspace, all within a sensitively preserved historic landmark. Hot Snakes Studio Presents "Cloud Coven Collective" An exhibition by Halcyon Nicoll, Marta Smolinska and Ryoko Tamura @crookedkingfisher martaes_art @funchninja Hal, Marta and Ryo are all very well known in the Edinburgh art scene (notorious perhaps?), though this is the first time they've presented a group show together, and it's shaping up to be excellent! The three are artistically distinct, whilst sharing some of the same illustrative mediums and disciplines, covering everything from cloudscapes and sunsets to angry cats. Plus knowing how prolific they are, this promises to be a big one! In a major boost for the plans to transform Leith Custom House @leithcustomhouse into a museum for Leith, the Sir Tom Farmer Foundation has donated a substantial amount towards the project spearheaded by Scottish Historic Buildings Trust (SHBT). The generous support from the Foundation and the enthusiastic backing from their family adds to the project’s growing momentum. This year, 2026, is set to be an exciting year as the plans for this category A-listed historic building are refined and pilot digitisation projects and exhibitions are delivered, with further pledges to be made for the Leith Custom House project. A public consultation saw 78% of respondents backing the plans which were unveiled in 2024, and in 2025 Leith Civic Trust became the designated organisation to run the museum when it is complete in 2031. Dr Samuel Gallacher, SHBT’s Director, said: “We are incredibly grateful to the Foundation for supporting this project, and it is particularly meaningful given that Sir Tom and Lady Farmer were both such proud Leithers. They were longstanding supporters of the vision that Custom House could be the place to tell Leith’s extraordinary story. The vision for Custom House is that this will be a place everyone in Leith will be proud of and that people from afar will come and visit." If you hadn’t heard we are hosting an open viewing at St Ninian’s Manse for businesses and charitable organisations looking for adaptable office space. This will take place across two one-hour time slots on Thursday March 12. The first from 11am to 12pm and the second from 4 to 5pm. There are currently two floors remaining to let. Please reserve your space at the viewing via the link in our bio. The building was originally restored by @scottishhistoricbuildingstrust from 1998 to 2002. Because SHBT is a charitable organisation all income from our properties goes directly back into preserving and improving the building, and saving other at-risk historic buildings across Edinburgh and Scotland. #leith #edinburgh #office
