As the @collectartfair draws to a close I’m reflecting on what an incredible experience it has been. Above all I think my exposure to the Collect Open cohort has been one of the high points. Seeing their commitment to their craft is a huge source of inspiration. A big shout out to @tf_chan @brigitta_spinocchia_freund @carolinejackmanartist for allowing us the space to do our thing. And @aishfunk for being the best version of me 😂

Sharing final image of Divine Loss, on view now at @collectartfair Divine Loss addresses miscarriage as a common yet largely unspoken experience. Following my own miscarriage last year, I was struck by the lack of public discourse around this event, and the reliance on marginal sources of information. At the same time, I was taken aback by the amount of friends who came forward, quietly sharing their own stories. The work presented here responds to this collective silence, drawing a parallel with the absence of miscarriage from the accepted vernacular of the art world. In this artwork, an orb ascends a shell, representing the foetus leaving the body, while the adjacent but separate draped cloth suggests a child not swaddled. By bringing this experience into view, I hope Divine Loss gives form and dignity to a reality that is widely lived yet rarely represented.

This is beginning to feel like a simulation in the best possible way. Still can’t believe I get to grace the pages of @bazaaruk for the March edition. Thank you to @franceshedges for the lovely conversation and words and @elizabethmachinpr for bringing this moment together. The cover embroidery was a very important commission to me and I’m so moved to see it shared. If you’re in London at the end of the month, please come say hi at @collectartfair
