When she first starred in the play ‘Prima Facie’, #JodieComer was 29 and had never done theatre before: “I was very anxious, very aware that people were thinking, ‘Is she going to be able to do this?’” Four years later, there is no question of her ability to master the material, but she has changed in other ways too. “I have more confidence, I know myself more,” she says. “I feel that when you’re playing a character with certain attributes, you are forced to touch upon, discover and illuminate those parts of yourself. They might be parts you’ve neglected, or that don’t feel very present in your day-to-day. That assuredness and confidence that Tess has – I found it easier to connect with those attributes.”
Whether she’s turning heads in Hollywood blockbusters or captivating audiences on stage, @jodiemcomer has the Midas touch, portraying complex characters with uncommon emotional depth. Coming off a succession of acclaimed projects – including her tour de force performance in the legal drama ‘Prima Facie’ – she tells Gavanndra Hodge why she’s ready for a reset, in the June issue of Bazaar UK.

The first episode of #Rivals concludes with a dedication to Jilly Cooper, pictured reclining on a chaise longue, wearing fishnets, a very low-cut top and a mischievous expression: a total fox. Filming for this series had started before she died following a fall at home in October 2025. “Jilly had had a lovely summer party in her garden that we all went to again – the best champagne, the best desserts: a true Cotswolds experience… I can’t believe she’s gone,” #NafessaWilliams says. “It was so beautiful to witness someone in their eighties making their dreams come true. Not only did she get a show, she got a fucking second season! It reminds you to never stop dreaming. You have to give it to her – Jilly really lived her life.”
As Jilly Cooper’s very English Eighties extravaganza returns to our screens, the American actress spills the tea on set life for @bazaaruk ’s May digital cover.

“Cameron’s a funny fish – she’s vulnerable, but also the strongest woman in the world, and I can’t quite ever predict what she’s going to do next,” #NafessaWilliams says of her #Rivals character, Cameron Cook. “She doesn’t know where her life stands. Her whole existence has been shaped by Tony – and now, he wants revenge.” The actress has relished the character development. “I found peeling off those layers exciting – you don’t want to always play one level, and us women aren’t permanently strong and put-together. Real life hits and we have to deal with it. But Cameron’s always 10 steps ahead. She can play the game better than the men. Take away the sexiness and the glamour, and she’s just a really smart, sharp person. Us East Coast girls are determined, fearless and when we want something, we go and get it,” the Philadelphia-born screen star says.

@Dior paid homage to Hollywood last night with Jonathan Anderson’s debut cruise show. Against the imposing concrete backdrop of LA’s County Museum of Art, and in front of a starry audience including Mikey Madison, Anya Taylor-Joy, Greta Lee, Miley Cyrus, Sabrina Carpenter and Jisoo, the designer sent out his sixth collection for the house, a swaggering hybrid of Parisian chic and everyday Americana.

The 79th annual #CannesFilmFestival is underway, promising a typically starry line-up as A-listers flock to La Croisette for this year’s offering of the best in international cinema. For 2026, the jury includes #DemiMoore, Ruth Negga, Stellan Skarsgård and Chloé Zhao, all of whom were among the first to arrive; Moore, for her part, started serving some excellent looks as soon as she disembarked from the plane.

What is it really like to work at a fashion magazine? To mark the arrival of ‘The Devil Wears Prada 2’, Harper’s Bazaar UK editor-in-chief @lydiasmag reveals what it takes to become an editor, what she always packs for fashion week, and the realities of the industry today.
#DemiMoore has arrived in #Cannes ahead of the 79th annual Film Festival. Sporting @Gucci ’s Borsetto bag front and centre, she styled it with a pre-fall 2026 bomber jacket, and a pared-back backdrop of neutrals and black.
“My mum and dad didn’t come from this world but saw how much I loved it and so invested in it, driving me to auditions, chaperoning me.” Jodie Comer started going to a local drama school at the age of 11, and was soon getting small roles in shows such as Holby City and Waterloo Road. “I wasn’t very studious, but when I was out on a job, that was when I came alive.” She decided to bypass drama school and started working after her A-levels, getting her first major role aged 18 in Channel 4’s ‘My Mad Fat Diary.’ “Part of me has always felt like a bit of a fraud for that. I had an insecurity about not being classically trained,” she says. “When people make me speak about [the canonical] works, I think I’m not familiar with that, or I don’t enjoy that, and it feels taboo to say so.” I ask if she’s read any Shakespeare: “I am trying!”

Since the very first denim jacket hit the market in 1880, a timeless utilitarian designed impeccably by Levi Strauss, the cool and classic style has evolved beyond its practical purpose. So synonymous with effortless style is it that it’s probably easier to name the stars who haven’t been seen wearing one through the decades (although Marilyn Monroe and Rihanna have had some particularly covetable looks). Boxy, oversize, fitted or cropped, it’s an easy layer that goes with everything – as demonstrated by the spring/summer 2026 catwalk.

“’Shall we go Nineties?’ my husband asked me the other week. What he meant by this was something almost laughably benign, a solution to an issue that didn’t even exist when we were, in fact, in the Nineties: shall we leave our phones at home when we leave the house? We have been doing this more regularly in an effort to extricate ourselves from the endless churn of doomscrolling and social media, and have implemented an “in house” version, where we leave our smartphones on the table by the front door, approaching them only when we need to contact someone – treating it much in the same way as a landline.”
“The irony is not lost on us, that we picked up this idea of ‘going Nineties’ from Instagram, where I have seen a growing surge of interest in the idea of retreating away from an overwhelmingly online world of AI slop, misinformation and brain rot in favour of ‘a simpler time’.”
Our fixation with the decade’s minimalistic style has become a wider desire to embrace an offline, more intellectual lifestyle. At the link bio, @mcchappet asks, are we really switching off or just performing an aesthetic?
