✨ A closer look at "High Expectations" by Anaïs Horn @anais_horn Now on view at the Austrian Cultural Forum New York, the exhibition unfolds as an immersive environment where design, literature, sound, and image converge. Installed in the Frederic Morton Library @acfnylibrary , Horn’s site-specific work invites visitors to move through space differently: Slowing down, listening closely, and engaging with history as a living, sensory experience. From the reimagined textile by Erika von Trauschenfels to the layered soundscape of interwar voices and contemporary responses, "High Expectations" creates a dialogue across time. 📍 On view through May 31, 2026 Austrian Cultural Forum New York 11 East 52nd Street 📸 More moments from the exhibition—on view now. #ACFNY #HighExpectations #AnaisHorn #ContemporaryArt #FeministArt #InstallationArt #SoundArt #NYCArt #ACFNYExhibition

What a thrilling book and what a pleasure it was to host Dr. Despina Stratigakos of @universityatbuffalo and Dr. Elana Shapira of @dieangewandte for the 11th A(R)Talk at the @acfny ❤️ Their new publication “Finding Ella Briggs: The Life and Work of an Unconventional Architect” - published by @princetonupress - offers important new perspectives on the Austrian architect Ella Briggs (1880–1977) and significantly expands her place within the histories of modern architecture, exile, gender, and transatlantic cultural exchange. The conversation brought together rigorous scholarship and lively exchange, while the engaged audience discussion underscored the continuing relevance of these questions today. #acfny #ellabriggs #princetonuniversitypress

🎭 ACFNY Recommended – Lisa Wentz at World Voices ✨ 🗓 May 11, 2026 | 6:30 PM 📍 Martin E. Segal Theatre Center | 365 5th Ave. | New York, NY 🎟 thesegalcenter.org Austrian playwrighter Lisa Wentz presents a reading of her new play "The Evening before the Ever After" (working title; German: Der Abend vor dem Danach). Set at an elegant dinner party in a financier’s villa, the play unfolds into a slow-burning psychological reckoning: when a young banker is confronted with a woman he assaulted years earlier—now introduced as his boss’s partner—structures of power, denial, and complicity begin to unravel. As tensions escalate, the evening exposes the fragile alliances that sustain systems of silence. Wentz, trained in Vienna and at the Berlin University of the Arts, is among the most compelling voices in contemporary German-language theater. Her work has been staged at leading venues including Volksbühne Berlin, Burgtheater Vienna, and Theater in der Josefstadt, and has received major accolades such as the Retzhofer Drama Prize and the Nestroy Award for Best Play.
