EXCITING NEWS: After an extended quest to bring ABYSS into the city, we’ve officially submitted plans for ABYSS Brighton - a proposed independent food + drink space at 47 Trafalgar Street.
Fresh pours. Seriously good food. Welcoming vibes.
At its core, ABYSS Brighton brings together independent food concepts, a wide-ranging drinks offer, events, creativity and community -shaped by everything we’ve been building since we first started brewing beneath The Pelham Arms back in 2016.
Brighton already has an incredible independent scene, and a huge amount of what ABYSS has become has been shaped by the city over the years. Our hope is simply to add something new to it -another space for independent food, drink, creativity and community.
From Lewes to Newhaven and now Brighton.

We spent a day under the arches in Manchester with our northern cousins brewing “It’s a Bottomless Pit Baby” (The ABYSS, Dir James Cameron).
It's a superb IPA created with Nectaron, Nelson Sauvin + Peacharine hops.

SUNDAYS in the ABYSS. We are now open on Sunday’s in Lewes 12-6pm with food by @bohobaja . Here we all are enjoying the last Sunday before re-opening for summer 2026. Have you ever tried a pint of @abyssbrewing Super Pale? We’re guessing you have and that you loved it. So we got the train over to their brewery and taproom in Lewes to soak up some sun, suds and good vibes. Unsurprisingly, an amazing time was had. Big thanks to the Bojo Baja food truck for keeping us standing!
