even months after receiving the news i still can’t believe it! i’m so excited to start my journey at school of the art institute chicago, but even with a scholarship i still have a little left to go!
i finally understand the struggles of all my international babes who had to jump through hoops to get to the UK 😭 i’m in a position where i’m so close, i just need the extra help!

𝓑𝓻𝓲𝓮𝓯𝓵𝔂 𝓖𝓸𝓻𝓰𝓮𝓸𝓾𝓼
Inspired by theories in Naomi Wold’s The Beauty Myth’ and Daphné B’s ‘Made-Up’ this exhibition explores the intense lifetime of dedication to female beautification that turns out to be so temporary. Once ‘beauty’ is achieved it has already slipped through your fingers, before nature or a new trend run its course, the bar is raised ever higher in a bid to ensure women stay concerned with their appearance over everything else.
Running thematic threads revolve around gendered ideals of beauty, trendification, the male gaze, performance of sexuality, and social prejudice of women ageing
