the only thing i love about performing and reading is tapping into the state and emotion that you were once in when the poem was written. a release that can be overbearing and fulfilling at the same time. #poetry

this is why i prefer writing, bc i can sit and think about my thoughts and words but i kinda liked my voice sharing for once. I hope you take this lightly too bc i do believe humans are allowed to be selfish to look after ourselves but i also believe we can sometimes get caught up in our selfishness and it’s natural! If we take a step back and understand ourselves, then we are growing for the better. We make mistakes and we learn from them, give yourself grace and mercy and allow yourself to give that to others too (obviously read the context too). the book i was referring to is Tender Buttons by Gertrude Stein and my interpretations of their writing in the first chapter.

just read the wealth gap is even wider with the top 1% holding just over 30% of wealth in the world ($46.18 trillion) whilst the rest of the world hold 2.5%. no one should be this rich whilst people are dying from living in poverty. they watch us participate in grind culture but that only exists within the working class and in the long run, affects us the most. they watch us shame each other for things we do not have power over but power to the people, this is the only power we have. if we cannot get rid of idolisation, let’s platform the right people.

Sabirin Osoble (@luvsbrn )is a London-based poet and multidisciplinary artist, weaving storytelling with themes of identity, culture, community, and love. At Softer Harder, she shares a piece on the blossoming of identity Exploring what it means to hold multiple selves, to grow, and to understand yourself through others. Rooted in nature, the work searches for meaning in connection. (Slide 1 excerpt from Sabirin’s substack piece ā€œWhen they ask me poetry, I will not write a lineā€ @luvsbrn )
