Hard to believe it’s now been two years of @standupnycbenefit . Seven events, nineteen organizations, hundreds of performers & volunteers, and over $110,00 already raised for grassroots and boots-on-the-ground organizations serving the queer and trans community across the country. These events were born out of a necessity to *do something* while the rights of our community, especially our trans community, and especially our Black trans community, have been stripped, politicized, and questioned. Tonight we’re standing up again, for the trans youth who deserve to live brilliantly, to hear their names respected at school, to play the sports they want to play with the people they’re comfortable playing with, to receive life-saving medical and mental healthcare, to receive love from parents who have access to resources and education. Catch me beaming with a smile and walking purposefully with a clipboard and stopping every three feet to hug somebody in drag. Wouldn’t be anywhere else, and wouldn’t rather collaborate so closely with anyone but @juliej.nyc , who I’m fortunate enough to love and trust implicitly. Together at Stand Up NYC Pride 2024 we raised $26,066.96 for three organizations providing accessible healthcare, gender affirming care, & community programming for LGBTQIA+ people in NYC and across the country: @apichachc , @lgbtbrooklyn , @pointofprideorg That means since March 2023 Stand Up NYC has raised over $106,000 for our LGBTQIA+ community! 🥳 Stand Up NYC Pride brought together over 40 drag performers, 50+ hosts, and dozens of volunteers, vendors, DJs, and photographers who donated their time and talent to making our 2024 Pride event a massive success.
