The artwork inside the Detroit Institute of Arts is a space that speaks volumes all on its own. Adding delicate florals to the ceremony was truly the icing on the cake. Complimented by sleek black chairs that accentuated the richness of the room while aligning beautifully with the color palette, every detail came together effortlessly. Although the design feels simple, it still makes a bold statement at the same time.

Now that I’m maturing in the event planning industry, I’m beginning to truly appreciate the beauty of bold, intentional floral design and I want to showcase more of that to my audience.

The art of the first dance!! I’ve seen this done in so many beautiful ways whether it’s a super creative dance routine, the classic slow dance to your favorite love song, or even sharing a private first dance before guests enter the room (my personal favorite, by the way).
There’s something so special about that moment, and personally, I don’t think it’s a tradition we should get rid of. It’s one of the few moments during the day where couples can truly pause and be present with one another.
Instead of skipping it altogether, I always encourage couples to make it their own and find an approach that feels authentic to them. There’s no right or wrong way to do a first dance. The beauty is in creating a moment that reflects your relationship.

Don’t let anyone tell you differently, marriage is still a beautiful thing.
The joy of marriage is a huge part of why I do what I do. We all love the beautiful decor and the spaces we create events in, but I will always say the union is the most important aspect of the day. Watching two people become one, surrounded by the people they love most, will forever be my favorite part.

I recently had a conversation, and that’s actually why I decided to post this specific wedding. We had a deep conversation about stepping outside of your comfort zone when it comes to color.
Sometimes when clients choose safe colors or more traditional florals, it’s simply because that’s all they know or have been exposed to. But when you get those unicorn clients who are open to something different, unexpected, or non traditional, take full advantage of the opportunity to truly expand your creativity.
