Father’s Day — a new video art film featuring John and Johan Griffiths.
Available now on milohume.com
Continuing on with past projects examining how men relate to one another, this film looks at the father-son dynamic, where intimacy is concealed within indirect talk and shared time on a trip. These almost cliché father-son rituals—like going on a hike—rely on a kind of isolation that makes space for affection and vulnerability to emerge. This communication isn’t overt, as it often is in a mother-son dynamic, but is still intentional—it’s just disguised. These outings act as a vehicle or excuse to coalesce without announcing that intention.
